Hey I just wanted to get this out this because i don’t know if this is a bigger issue then it seems but this account received a moderate macroing bann and it is now unbanned and I told I was told the reason I received this report was for not playing on an official RuneScape or osrs client which i last downloaded in 2017 it still refreshes licensing number on the bottom of the desktop which I mentioned to some people on the forums off that thread I put up top and it also refreshed for everyday holiday so what am I to think something is wrong ?which in my case I definitely was using an osrs client there is no way I would risk this account which is over 15years and yeah my game time play doesn’t justify anything if i was actually botting which I wasn’t at all so I don’t know how you’re system can say I was running any sort of bot or had client I could edit which I don’t because I only play on the original osrs client nothing else amd I have proof but after I mentioned all of this then I was told on the forums I if i tried to download old school RuneScape it automatically forces me to the Jagex launcher so I went and tried myself and it did forsure make me download the Jagex launcher when trying to download any of the game versions so basically I’ve been playing on an old game file from 2017 which still worked fine I honestly had no clue the Jagex launcher existed I played on and off a lot until I was told about it by some great people @2_tron and @MsAna for the help also cause this was the only responses I received then to be told this was not my issue? I’m still stuck right now afraid to log my account into the game I went ahead deleted my old files and redownloaded through the game launcher but I just want to know because this is the only explanation I could think of and I just find it odd my client was still going even though you guys are forcing the game launcher and I just really don’t hope this is the reason why I got banned and others

Hi, KingOfHerbs.

As long as you download the official Old School RuneScape client from the main website -- which may be found here:
https://oldschool.runescape.com/
-- you should be fine. I'm inclined to believe that the client from 2017 may have not been an official RuneScape client due to two reason: 1) that's the reason for your ban and 2) as I mentioned on your previous thread, if the client from 2017 were to be from Jagex, you'd have received various alerts telling you to update it to the most recent one.

In any case, I recommend you take a look at the articles/threads below:

As an experiment, I deleted my Old School Client, Launcher, and all that, clicked "Game Direct Download" below "Get Support" on https://oldschool.runescape.com/launcher, and upon the "Old School RuneScape" app being added to my Mac Ventura 13.2.1's Applications folder, it showed "Date modified" as Jul 11th, 2017. It might just be a quirk of the base app itself not having been modified since Jul 11th, 2017, or there might be a bigger problem.

I understand that Ana and the game client I had was just a desktop launcher it literally has the logo from osrs and the only time it ever prompted me to restart my client was on the regular days the app got updated which was i think its thursday or wednesday and all i had to do was close my app and reopen it it never prompted me to download "game launcher" like you are saying i have some pictures if that helps idk tbh i miss the game alot just sucks and either way this was an official jagex launcher and i shouldnt be taking a bann for it while you guys are still letting the client run live..

please help me ot guys im not in the wrong this is the only client i have ever used and yeah no game launcher was prompted for me and i stated i downloaded this file a while ago idk how this falls back on me i shouldn't even be able to open this up but it still updated every week never mentioned anything game launcher but yeah its just not fair tbh please follow up whenever you guys see this and thank you so much and yeah it took me a few trys to get that imgur to work lmao and this iron guy above me that posted idk him but i just seen this and yeah hes even finding weird stuff

What you do show is 'Windows'.

You wanna attempt to simulate as much clients as possible simultaniously creating an advantage.

Jagex/JMods can easily determine what your intentions are and that's why you received a '
moderate macroing ban

The information/feedback we gave you is based upon honesty and proper use of software proposed by Jagex/JMods to be able to play RuneScape/OldSchool RuneScape without any issues of being actioned/banned.
You play the odds and as such were actioned.
