Jagex doesnt tell what causes a macro ban, as it would help bot makers make bots that could by pass jagex security.

Why does a customer (ie, normal player) have to play the role of a potential bot maker? They should do their tests on the bots, not on players.

Other things can cause macro bans.. unintentional macros used for other games that allow the macros. Jagex could detect it and if it could be used on runescape, then there you go. I know one person was using macros for work, got banned.

That is ridiculous. Back in the days we could just click "play" and play the game, and not worry about which drivers or whatnot we have installed, or how our computers are configured. How can Jagex just gaslight the players like that, as if it's somehow our responsibility that THEIR bot detection system works correctly?

The forums are run by community helpers and other players. Jmods rarely post and there is no way of knowing what all they read.

And I have no choice but to post here, hoping they will see it, because "customer support" just redirects to the ban appeal page, and they completely ignored me on Twitter for months, only replying to me ONCE with a boilerplate reply.

Bot makers are the every day customer.. but not every customer.

I was suggesting to you that Jagex doesnt tell what a player did that cause bot detection to flag their account. Because the player could be a bot maker and that would allow them to see what jagex can flag.

As far as other macros on your computer. If a macro is used for anything and Jagex detects it running even in background then all they can do is assume its interacting with their game.

You can post here all you want but all we can tell you are things that we have see here on forums, on other platforms etc.

NO one can tell you what caused your macro ban. And the people who might could..Jmods.. wont.

I feel your frustration. But please remember, I can only tell you things i have seen posted and/or talked about on these forums and reddit, twitter, etc.

Good luck.

@2_Tron a matter of simple customer support should not need any court. I should be able to talk to Jagex about the ban, and get at least an explanation why I have been banned. I don't even have the money to file a court case. If I were cynical, I would say that this is why I was targeted, but because I'm not, I'll instead assume that Jagex have made a mistake and are unwilling to admit it for some reason.
If players are that persistent a move to court is the only way possible.

You are allowed to make use of '
Jagex's Digital Property
' if you comply to 'Jagex's
Rules of RuneScape
and/or
Terms & Conditions
'. If not ... Jagex/JMods are allowed to take action against your RuneScape/Jagex game account, the way Jagex have listed in aforementioned rules.

Back in the day ... in the beginning of RuneScape ... where Jagex/JMods were extremely occupied with future innovations ... Jagex/JMods had a different '
community-policy
'.
This community-policy, at that time, was one of '
informing/information/parenting/learning/leniency
' and moreso to get in direct contact with The RuneScape Community. Back in the day those rules, Jagex handles now, were also present but because Jagex/JMods were more laidback/relaxed the approach was experienced differently.

Now we are 20+ years later and Jagex has changed to a '
ZeroTolerance Policy
' as there's no room for game-abuse anymore.

Things that once were ... are not the same anymore as back in the day there wasn't social media fully deployed. Now there is and since that happened many many things have changed turning the digital world upside down.
Top that off with extreme attention for AI and we daily are tiptoeing eggs.

Keeping your systems up to date is a must/requirement ... if not ... keeping your system/account vulnerable ... Jagex/JMods might interveine to protect their 'systems/servers/company/RuneScape Community' from hazardous situations.

I would recommend you to visit '
Jagex's Support Centre
' as a good source of information/solutions.

I've locked this as you are trying to Appeal a Ban via the forums.

The Forums can't be used in this way.

If Jagex have denied the appeal then sadly thats the end of it.

Also I've removed the message Jagex sent you as thats Private between You and Jagex.

Threads locked as nothing further here can be done. Good luck with the Twitter replies.
