So about 3 months ago, every now and then when i would log on i would get the error message "your account has been locked due to suspicious activity". I get this about once a week, and it really wasn't a big deal because it would just walk me through a password change and that was that. I also have a bank PIN on my account so even if someone was getting into my account, they couldn't take anything.

That changed a few weeks ago when I realized the guy who's been hacking my account so consistently (about once a week), actually cancelled my bank PIN without me realizing I guess, and cleaned me out. Since then, I have tried to re-enable a bank PIN on my account so I can continue playing on it and try to rebuild, however, a bank PIN takes 7 days to actually activate, and this fucker just logs in after 6 days and cancels the pending bank PIN, so I basically can't use my account permanently.

I've tried several things to resolve this, but to no avail. I have 2A enabled, I switch passwords frequently, I changed the registered e-mail address for the account, I went through my computer and phone and deleted all cookies, history, and any saved information stored on any sites, including any log-in information. I also set up 2A on the e-mail account used to log into my osrs account.

Despite all this, I'm still getting hacked. I guess he's an extra-resilient one.

As someone who has a VERY limited knowledge of technology, I figured I'd ask for help here, in the forums, from any of you, to see if any of you could offer a solution to my problem. At this point I'm getting frustrated and ready to quit, he isn't even getting anything from the account at this point lol, is he just doing it to be a dick?

Anyways, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time!

How do I go about undoing that and recovering my account properly so he cant access it?

its also worth noting this isn't the account, this is my HCIM alt and it hasn't been hacked in the 2 months I've had it. so I'm not sure how he has access to one of my accounts but not the other. I also cant find anything in the main accounts setting that lead me to believe there are any linked accounts. When I go to the linked account tab, I don't see any, but then again if there were linked accounts I'm not sure it would show up anyway.

thanks

Go to the 'Linked Accounts' tab and check. If you cannot see any linked accounts, click on 'Manage Steam' and check for a linked Steam account. Unlink.

It really does sound like your hijacker is using a linked account to get backdoor access.
Using a third party shortcut login (linked account) actually bypasses all your RuneScape account security. That's why your Authenticator and Bank PIN aren't stopping them.

If there really are no linked accounts, the only other thing to suspect is that your computer has malware and you might need to do a factory reset on your computer.

Hey, REDHELMBRRRR.

If you want to see if they are any linked accounts that were not added by you, as suggested by Malua above, please follow the steps below and appropriately remove them if they are not recognized:

1. Go to the yellow/orange "
My Account
" or "Account" link at the top right corner of your computer screen:

2. Once there, head to "Linked Accounts" and click on it:

3. You will be presented with the image below. If you don't recognize any of the linked accounts, remove them. If you do, ensure that they are completely secured by following the instructions on the Security tips Support page for Google's 2-Step Verification; Apple's two-factor authentication; or Steam Guard:

4. Since I don't have any linked accounts with Facebook, Apple or Google, I'm not presented with the "Unlink" button (I can only see the "Link" button to add them); however, to check for either Amazon or Steam, you'd have to click on "Manage Amazon" or "Manage Steam" to see if there are any linked accounts. You'd then follow the instructions above to either remove them completely or to make sure they are completely secured.
