My noob friend needs help

I am a long time Runescape player that recently got back into OSRS. A friend of mine, who thought RS3 was the only version of Runescape, saw me and my buddy playing OSRS and wanted to try it out. He ended up getting hooked on the game, so we gave him some starter cash and items, took him to do some basic quests, and showed him sand crabs so he could train his combat skills. He ended up grinding at crabs, getting 6 hour logged twice in a day. Then, out of nowhere, his account was permanently banned for macroing and using an illegal third party botting software. However, there's no way he could have even figured out how to obtain a bot client in the amount of time he has been playing OSRS. He appealed his ban on that account, but he wanted to play RS so bad that he made a new account, bought a year's worth of membership, and restarted from the beginning. He was hoping that his first account would eventually get unbanned, then he could just train two accounts at once, but two days later his new account was banned as well. Jagex has not responded to any of his appeals yet.

I talked to him to try and figure out if he has any third party programs running that could be triggering the ban, and he doesn't have anything out of the ordinary except a VPN and the driver programs for his mouse and keyboard. I don't know what could be causing him to be receiving these bans, all I want is for him to be able to play the game. Any advice on what we should do is greatly appreciated.

@Porpise, there are 2 things your friend needs to take care of;

1) let him use a standard mouse and keyboard and do not use any 3rd party driver software for the mouse and keyboard, as those programs can make things much easier but are prohibited to be used in RuneScape for creating an unfair advantage.

2)

If your friend does use a 3rd party program (runelite) to play OSRS there's only "1" allowed, to be used, and be aware, the only version you are allowed to use is forwarded/linked on the website of OSRS (see picture).
Do not use any add ons/plugins as they are prohibited and may result in a ban.

1) He doesn't use the program to do anything in the game as far as I'm aware, he only has it installed so that he can edit his DPI and his lighting profile for his mouse. Could just having it installed cause this issue?

2) He uses runelite and only uses plugins that he gets through the runelite client. Are these types of plugins prohibited to use in the game?

Todays 3rd party software is full of self-regulating software that starts to interact with other programs/computers the moment they are installed.
Most of the time people can't notice what does happen.

Another thing, you can't prove that your friend does not do things he/she shouldn't be doing, in terms of rulebreaking things. You only believe what they say.
