So i've been working on an alt account to be a low level pure / skiller while I've been doing stuff like running barrows or doing my own thing and today I'm not able to login to it AND trying to get a recovery email sent to me to reset it *does not* get sent to me.
So, you are getting an error message at login and you have tried the
Reset password
support page instructions.
You should be following the instructions under
"If you don't have access to your account"
.
If the troubleshooting doesn't help and if you were only playing your account yesterday (or very recently) but today your password isn't working, you have to assume a hijacker has taken over the account and
they also have access to your email
.
They have either fiddled with your email settings to block Jagex emails or they have changed the registered email of the account to something different.
So, start by securing your email.
Change its password right away and set up a 2-step verification on it.
Then move to recovering your RuneScape account.
If the password reset email doesn't arrive, you need to click the 'contact Jagex Support' hyperlink to get taken into the recovery system.
