Jagex Launcher: Why bother?

So ive just tried syncing all my characters using the launcher and i dont see the point in it at all, once you start the game after selecting your character you still have to sign in to the game again anyway to get into the account itself. It also stopped me from logging in on mobile as i have to now log in through the jagex account which wasnt working to begin with. its honestly way more trouble than its worth.

On top of the above, i have found that some of my characters wont log in, just coming up with the "wrong username/email or password" pop up and telling me to make a jagex account. i have tried signing in with the original credentials, i have tried signing in with the jagex account credentials. It just will not let me get on them. this launcher is awful. whats the point merging them all if its not just gunna help me sign in quicker

Prefer the old runescape launcher, this jagex launcher is utter shit. Can't even log in onto my other account on MOBILE once i linked it to a jagex account. Forcing to a so called "Upgrade". Thought that the mobile option of runescape is a step forward... now 2 steps backward.
