I purchased membership last week for a group Ironman that I started with my brother. It was banned today due to macroing major. I have only used RuneLite and Mobile on this account, and refuse to use scripts or macros with any of my accounts, I just click for efficiency. I have been grinding very heavily on the account so I was thinking that may be the reason I was flagged. I am trying to get the appeal expedited so I can continue the early level grind. Why was I banned when there are still so many bots that I come across each day?

playing efficiently doesnt trigger bot detection, the person with world record tutorial to max cape didnt have issues. (37 in game time iirc for osrs) no offense but im sure they wer being more effecient (i watched the series it was insane)

the only way to appeal ban is here account bans information

also just because you use rl / mobile doesnt mean you cant get banned for macro. this covers a range of things.

not all bots get banned asap after detection
just because you see bots doesnt mean nothing happens, you being banned is testament to that, not saying you did bot etc but it shows bans do happen.
100% no bots is pretty much impossible

Using the allowed clients does not mean you are immune to macroing bans. If you choose to use a third party client, be mindful of the third party guidelines here: Third Party Client Guidelines.

Applying a plugin with one of the prohibited features to an approved client can still get you banned.

There are only two situations I can think of that could have caused the ban. One, I was thieving for seeds to level my farming from the Master Farmer in Draynor. I may have been reported by the other person that was there when I didn't trade with them. It looked like they had tried to give me food when my HP dropped low, but I am unsure if that was what happened due to not being able to receive trade notifications as an Ironman.

The second, and this is contingent on if my duo has banned as well, would be that he was flagged for doing low CB Wintertodt for cash and 99 fire making and I was banned for affiliation. Either of these would still be false bans due to both of us refusing to use any form of macro or script.

I haven't been active on my two mains for the last week due to my focus on this Group Ironman, if checking my log in status for the last week or two would help my case, should I provide the names of my mains in a follow up appeal.

Wait, what are the prohibited plugins?

The only new plugin I had installed since starting the Ironman was one called "Time Tracking Reminder" to aid in my farming patch reminders. It's a useless plugin that doesn't seem to work, but I didn't uninstall it before logging in with this account on the RuneLite app. It's now removed, but Is this account now at risk as well?

just because someone reports you doesnt mean you will get banned, especially if you arent botting.

doing low level wintertodt is pretty much the meta. doing it at a low level really isnt a trigger. i did it on my ironman at very low level.

you are welcome for the link, hopefully its speedy to get your answer.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I hope I hear back from them today. Ironman is clearly a huge time investment and I don't want to have my time wasted too much. This situation has been extremely discouraging for the creation or play of ironman.

I'm partnered with GIM Ronax, my account (GIM Saphira9) wasn't banned while still in the middle of 99 fming. Not sure how this happened, but using the subreddit I am not too surprised by the occasional unwarranted ban.

Hope this can be resolved so he can keep telling me about his adventures.

If you do use a 3rd party program (runelite) to play OSRS there's only "1" allowed, to be used, and be aware, the only version you are allowed to use is forwarded/linked on the website of OSRS (see picture).

Do not use any add ons/plugins as they are prohibited and may result in a ban.

All plugins/add-ons that produce an unfair advantage over what other players use, whom use '
Jagex's Official RuneScape/OldSchool RuneScape Software
', all those plugins/add-ons are prohibited no matter where they come from.
