Good Evening,

I have recently gotten back into the Runescape world after a decade+ hiatus and have hit a little snag with my email address.

The one on file has gone defunct as it was retired a bit ago and is no longer in service (Microsoft confirmed). As a result, I am attempting to change my email address via the recovery option to no avail.
I have attempted multiple times to submit a recovery request but cannot get past the first stage, the automated part.

Understandably, the system rejects me as I do not have all the information, but here are the caveats:
The home that I originally started the account at is someplace I moved away from, albeit in the same state.
The service provider changed names so the system seems to get hung up on that.
I know the answers to all but 1 of the security questions (I'm pretty sure)
The card used to buy membership initially has been retired but there is an option missing from the list: membership cards purchased from a retailer, Gamestop.
The account was created a long time ago (unspecified in this forum for discreetness unless you will okay it), but I don't know the exact month.

I know the exact email address and other passwords I've used in the past, and was able to access the account just fine to start playing again. I would just like to update my email address for peace of mind and secure access in the future.

I will be happy to answer any questions asked of me and appreciate any help and feedback.

Still being in the same state is good. It isn't as ideal as being at the creation address but it is still ok.

State the name it used at the time, not the current name.

Excellent. This part is checked manually so you don't need to be exact with capital letters, spelling etc. You just need to show that you have a very good idea of the answers.

You were buying a RuneScape prepaid Gamecard? It doesn't matter where you bought the card, just that it was a prepaid Gamecard.

If you currently have game login access, login and talk to Hans in Lumbridge. Hans will tell you exactly how old your account is and you can calculate the month/year of creation.
If you don't have game login access, it still won't matter as long as your other creation information is good.

A super fast deny? Check through this list:
* wrong login (not identifying the account correctly)
* no correct passwords submitted (focus on the old ones, not the most recent)
* not in the country where the account was created
* submitting while using a VPN (don't use a VPN during recovery)
* leaving too many empty boxes on the form or submitting too much incorrect information.
Always check the reasons for the deny and try to improve your next attempt based on those reasons.
