I have recently gotten back into the Runescape world after a decade+ hiatus and have hit a little snag with my email address.
The one on file has gone defunct as it was retired a bit ago and is no longer in service (Microsoft confirmed). As a result, I am attempting to change my email address via the recovery option to no avail.
I have attempted multiple times to submit a recovery request but cannot get past the first stage, the automated part.
Understandably, the system rejects me as I do not have all the information, but here are the caveats:
The home that I originally started the account at is someplace I moved away from, albeit in the same state.
The service provider changed names so the system seems to get hung up on that.
I know the answers to all but 1 of the security questions (I'm pretty sure)
The card used to buy membership initially has been retired but there is an option missing from the list: membership cards purchased from a retailer, Gamestop.
The account was created a long time ago (unspecified in this forum for discreetness unless you will okay it), but I don't know the exact month.
I know the exact email address and other passwords I've used in the past, and was able to access the account just fine to start playing again. I would just like to update my email address for peace of mind and secure access in the future.
I will be happy to answer any questions asked of me and appreciate any help and feedback.
