I don't mind a recycled holiday event per se (it would be great to be able to replay the old ones) but why in the name of Saradomin did it have to be last year's one ...
That one was, I'm sorry, really bad, but hardly more than a grind as well as reliant upon other people for full rewards. At least it's improved somewhat this time, but why didn't you reuse e.g. Hallowe'en 2006 or 2007 (again), or one of the earlier OS-exclusive ones with Death and Anti-Santa? Those were really good!
If you do the same for Christmas, I don't mind. There have been some very cool ones.
As for the birthday event, adding some iconic NPCs (not just bloody gnome children, please ...) to the OS Museum or something would be cool. Maybe you could recycle the one-year anniversary's "zoo" in the empty field that is Menaphos?
The novel sounds great! As much as I'd enjoy a fourth instalment in T. S. Church's series (many unanswered questions), new stories are always welcome.

Since there is no separate thread for the Varlamore Colosseum, I'll post here. First of all, the concept art and the premise seem really cool! I have a few questions about the rewards, though.
- Will sunfire runes interact with the tome of fire? (As in, the tome would not save them, but would the damage boosts stack?) Will they work with non-standard spells such as Iban Blast? (Which ... is powerful enough as is, really.)
- Why isn't the quiver an ammo slot item? There's plenty of arguments for both sides, but has it been considered?
- Why is the new prayer armour set for melee? Logically, that spot should be filled by acolyte armour, if and when OS gets a new sea slug/Mahjarrat/Asgarnia quest involving the Temple Knights. Ranged and Magic, on the other hand, sorely lack good prayer-specific gear akin to Proselyte. Could you please consider changing the reward to be one of those styles?
On an unrelated note, I wonder if we'll ever get weapons that deal ‘special’ damage like magical ranged.

I always love playing the holiday events and I think being able to replay old events is brilliant. In fact that was one of my favourite things when OSRS came back, was being able to play the 2006/2007 era events.
That being said I logged on today and found myself incredibly disappointed that 2023 was a repeat of 2022, one of the least exciting events. Over the last few years holiday events have really gone down hill, especially for halloween and easter.
Personally I think you should always have a new event and allow players to talk to Grim Reaper/Santa/Easter bunny (depends on the occasion) to replay older events for fun.
I'm also disappointed to see the vestas longsword slowly creeping it's way further into the game.
I will end on a happy note though. I am so glad you've added the toggle for resetting the camera when clicking on the compass. I really don't understand why you wouldn't want that all the time. RIP Forums
