Please stop asking me to switch to a Jagex account every time I log in or access my bank. I am getting fed up and annoyed with it.

Also, stop improving bank space over security updates, I do not want people to see a screenshot of my bank and immediately be able to infer exactly what security measures I have in place based on that alone.

As far as my reasons go... I, as many others have already said, often use linux, and have heard nothing but negativity regarding support. Unless you start showing support for linux I will not switch to this new system of yours. Volunteers are already posting possible fixes that will allow your new system to work, which I appreciate... but, utilizing such fixes in most similar games results in unfair bans so I've stopped caring for such solutions. Officially implement them yourself so this will not be a problem instead.

I also use multiple accounts, which you are using as a reason to "upgrade". However, I am conversely extremly scared to link them together at all. Jagex has always had a history of wrongfully banning accounts, and now you will ban not just the account I am playing, but all other accounts I own at once should I be the subject of such a blunder. I would rather keep the impact of your blind ban hammering isolated. Unless membership becomes shared between accounts...

All you needed to do. was make oldschool runescape account passwords case sensitive. That is all you ever needed to do. That is all that has been asked of you for the past god knows how many years. How could this stump your entire team for this long? You don't know how heart wrenching it was to find out that my relatively secure password was orders of magnitude weaker than estimated due to a poor implementation. This should be no "reason" to upgrade. It should never have been a problem to begin with. I don't care if your new system doesn't have this problem, FIX IT IN THE CURRENT ONE INSTEAD! I have no objection to anyone being able to use a different client, or login different ways. Use an email if you want, link up your phone, use your fingerprints or send Jagex a blood sample. But I don't want it. It's the single worst thing to ever happen to RS for me and it will be the end of my time here. I don't want to be forced out but that's how Jagex is going.

People who want 2FA have had that option for a very long time now, however it's one of the two biggest things that put me off. I've always hated 2FA. I have no choice but to tolerate it from the bank because the government put them between me and my income. I'm not tolerating it from Jagex just to play a game .

I use an oldschool username to login, it's unknown to anyone besides me and Jagex so I don't see how I would improve the security by changing it to an email address everyone on earth knows and could try. Or I'd have to setup and then have to maintain another email address for no reason but RS. And the phone is not an option under any circumstances. I'm not doing it.

I don't believe any of this is about security. If it was about security they would improve the password system on the existing account structure, let them be case-sensitive, add special characters, make them longer etc. I won't speculate as to the true reason behind this change but it stinks of something else.

Edit: So I also noticed Jagex bragging about 150,000 Jagex accounts, across 290,000 RS3/OSRS characters, but they also boast over 320,000,000 RS accounts so even if it was 290,000 seperate rs accounts signed up it would still be less than 0.1% of the RS account base that volunteered for this rubbish. Please tell me more about how much everyone loves the pointless new system.

Thank you, Jagex, for implementing Jagex Accounts and the Open Beta. I've upgraded my account, and I really appreciate the enhanced security features and the ability to import multiple characters. It's reassuring to know that my account is better protected. I would highly recommend this to other players as well. I also look forward to future updates and improvements in the system.
