Very much not a fan of this update.
I think the most important part is that this was not voted on by players. As with all updates, the playerbase generally is given a chance to voice their agreement/disagreement with proposed ideas. This method of "We think we need so we do" could be a potential start to a bad future. Just my opinion.
Yes, the wilderness bosses as they are right now aren't perfect. There's ways to use their pathing and coding to make for easier kills. But let's look at this more realistically - if the primary method for fighting these bosses is to grapple around their mechanics, and the majority of people don't abide by the intended fighting mechanics, shouldn't the solution be to rework the existing mechanics?
It feels like this update is more aligned to pumping more bodies into the Wilderness, which at this point is adding water to a cup with a hole in the bottom. The initial push after the update will be massive, and within a few weeks or months, barring no insane GP/H methods are introduced accidentally or purposefully, the activity will die down, leaving just a new small niche of players chasing items here and there.
The main problem I find with this update is what's been stated by several other commenters thus far - the multi-combat necessity. Some players like to do things on their own. Some people like doing things with a clan or small team, sure. My problem is with neither of these - my problem is with the multi-combat clans that have no intention of fighting the monster. Sure, it's the Wilderness, it's understandable especially with new content that these places will be jumping with activity, but Wilderness updates in the past have shown us a familiar trend: large PVP clans making it impossible to enjoy the new content and/or asking for "protection fees," or large clan chats thinly connected with the intent to ruin others' experiences.
In short, I think mistakes were made in getting here, and at this point, we push forward hoping.
