Using the lore surrounding the events of the Desert Storyline and the background of the Kharadian Desert as your inspiration, we'd like you to come up with a thematic login screen for when A Kingdom Divided arrives in August. If you win, every player who opens Old School will see your design as they prepare to step into Gielinor!
Here's everything you need to know:
DATES & TIMES:
◽ The competition begins at 13:00 BST on July 15th and closes at 23:59 BST on July 24th .
◽ The four finalists will be chosen by the Old School team and will feature in a poll starting on July 28th and closing on August 1st .
DIMENSIONS & DISPLAY:
◽ The image you submit must be 545x671 pixels exactly and either JPG/JPEG.
◽ The login screen works by taking an image and mirroring it. When submitting, make sure that it's half of a login screen (see the examples below).
◽ Remember that the flames and window boxes (where players enter their login details) will be placed on top of your image, in the same positions as where they currently sit. These cannot be moved.

1 THE COMPETITION
1.1 The promoter and organiser of this competition is Jagex Limited of 220 Cambridge Science Park, Cambridge, England, CB4 0WA ("Jagex", “us” or “we”). These terms and conditions govern the legal relationship between Jagex and you (referred to in these terms and conditions as “you”, “yours” or “Entrant”) in relation to the competition.
1.2 Please read these terms and conditions carefully, and in particular clause 6.3, 6.4 and 6.5 regarding how we will handle your personal data in relation to the competition.
1.3 The title of the competition is the Tombs of Amascut Login Screen Design Competition July 2022.
1.4 We want to give you the chance to design something familiar to all scapers... the Old School login screen! With the lore and background of the Tombs of Amascut in mind, it is your chance to design a thematic login screen that will be displayed when Tombs of Amascut arrives on Old School RuneScape!
1.5 To enter the competition, you need to design a login screen featuring the lore, location or questline surrounding the Tombs of Amascut.
1.6 All information detailed on any of Jagex websites (including but not limited to jagex.com, www.runescape.com and www.oldschool.runescape.com, hereafter referred to as “Jagex Websites”), digital platforms, games or apps or published in any of our newsletters in relation to the entry requirements for this competition form part of these terms. In the event of any discrepancy or conflict between that information and these competition terms, the specific competition terms and conditions will prevail.
1.7 Facebook (or any other social media site) do not endorse or sponsor any competitions hosted by Jagex and we are not affiliated with Facebook in any way (or any other social media site).
2 HOW TO ENTER
2.1 The competition will run from 13:00 BST on 15 July 2022 (the “Opening Date”) to 23:59 BST on 24 July 2022 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.
2.2 All competition entries must be received by Jagex by no later than 23:59 BST on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
2.3 No purchase is necessary to enter the competition and there is no charge to register for use of a Jagex Website.
2.4 To enter the competition, you need to design a login screen featuring the lore surrounding the Tombs of Amascut. In order to enter the competition, entrants can submit their entries, together with their finalised artwork by:
2.4.1 send a completed entry form (as found on the news post accompanying these terms and conditions) with your artwork before the Closing Date;
2.4.2 Posting your entry to: Tombs of Amascut Login Screen Competition, Competitions Team, Jagex Limited, 220 Cambridge Science Park, Cambridge, England, CB4 0WA by the Closing Date.
2.5 The size of your submitted image must be 545 pixels by 671 pixels.
2.6 All entries must be accompanied by your name, address and either a telephone number or email address.
2.7 Jagex will not accept:
2.7.1 responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
2.7.2 proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
2.8 By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3 JUDGES
3.1 ROUND 1 – JAGEX INTERNAL VOTE
3.1.1 After the Closing Date the competition entries will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by Jagex.
3.1.2 The judges will select 4 (four) competition entries based on the entries which display the most artistic skill and best demonstrate the spirit of this Competition. These 4 entries shall proceed to round 2.
3.1.3 The decision of the panel of judges (acting reasonably) will be final.
3.1.4 A list of names of the judges can be requested by emailing [email protected] or by writing to us at: Competitions Team, 220 Cambridge Science Park, Cambridge, England, CB4 0WA.
3.2 ROUND 2 – COMMUNITY VOTE
3.2.1 The 4 competition entries selected in round 1 shall be put to a community vote, available on a Jagex Website between 13:00 BST on 28 July 2022 and 14:00 BST on 1 August 2022.
3.2.2 The competition entries will be ranked from 1st to 4th placed based on the total votes received during the timings set out at clause 3.2.1, with 1st place being awarded to the competition entry with the highest number of votes, 2nd place being awarded to the competition entry with the second highest number of votes, 3rd place being awarded to the competition entry with the third highest number of votes and 4th place being awarded to the competition with the fourth highest number of votes.
4 ELIGIBILITY

4.1.1 employees of Jagex or its holding or subsidiary companies;
4.1.2 employees of agents or suppliers of Jagex or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or;
4.1.3 members of the immediate families or households of paragraphs 4.1 and 4.1.2 above.
4.2 If you are based outside of the Competition Jurisdiction, or your jurisdiction has legal or regulatory rules that invalidate these terms or make Jagex’s performance of them impossible, Jagex will not accept your competition entry and you will be deemed to have been automatically disqualified from it.
4.3 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. Jagex may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition and reserves the right to disqualify any non-eligible entrant to does not eligible to enter the competition.
4.4 Jagex will not accept competition entries that are:
4.4.1 automatically generated by computer;
4.4.2 completed by third parties or in bulk;
4.4.3 illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
4.4.4 photocopies and not originals; or
4.4.5 incomplete.
4.5 There is a limit of one entry to the competition per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
4.6 Jagex reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.
4.7 Competition entries cannot be returned.
5 THE PRIZE
5.1 The prizes are:
5.1.1 1st place: 12-months of membership to OldSchool RuneScape. The 1st place entry will also be utilised as the login screen for OldSchool RuneScape following the launch of Tombs of Amascut (at a time to be determined by Jagex in its sole discretion) for a period of time to be determined by Jagex. A physical copy of your artwork will also be produced and signed by available members of the Old School RuneScape team;
5.1.2 2nd place: 6-months of membership to OldSchool RuneScape;
5.1.3 3rd place: 3-months of membership to OldSchool RuneScape;
5.1.4 4th place: 3-months of membership to OldSchool RuneScape.
5.2 The Amazon vouchers are supplied by Amazon and use of these is subject to any additional terms and conditions imposed by Amazon.
5.3 Jagex reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond Jagex’s control makes it necessary to do so.
5.4 Prizes are subject to availability. Jagex reserves the right to substitute the prize with a cash alternative, or to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
5.5 The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
5.6 In order to claim the prize, you must provide us with your name, the email address and Old School RuneScape account you require us to send your prize to (and your postal address, if you are entitled to a physical prize).
6 WINNERS
6.1 The decision of Jagex is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.2 Jagex will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry. Jagex will not amend any contact information once the competition entry form has been submitted.
6.3 Jagex must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation Jagex will publish the surname and county of major prize winners and their winning entries on a Jagex Website on 8 August 2022 ("Announcement Date").
6.4 In addition to clause 6.3, within one month of the Closing Date of the competition, anyone can request information of the major prize winners by emailing [email protected] or writing to: Competitions Team, Jagex Limited, 220 Cambridge Science Park, Cambridge, England, CB4 0WA.
6.5 If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact Jagex by emailing [email protected] or writing to: Competitions Team, Jagex Limited, 220 Cambridge Science Park, Cambridge, England, CB4 0WA. In such circumstances, Jagex must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request. 7 CLAIMING THE PRIZE
7.1 If you are the winner of the prize, you will have 14 days from the Announcement Date to claim the prize by following the instructions set out in paragraph 5.5. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim to the prize will become invalid.
7.2 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
7.3 Jagex will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available or has not claimed their prize within 14 days of the Announcement Date, Jagex reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
7.4 Jagex does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
8 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
8.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, Jagex, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Jagex, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
9 OWNERSHIP OF COMPETITION ENTRIES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
9.1 You will retain ownership of all intellectual property rights (including copyright) in your entry, but you agree to grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable license to use it for inclusion within Old School RuneScape and for any other purposes connected with this competition. This clause is subject to paragraph 9.2.
9.2 This license will last for the duration of the relevant intellectual property right and includes the right for us to:
9.2.1 edit or modify your entry (including resizing, adjusting the colour and adding elements such as text);
9.2.2 adapt it or incorporate it into other materials;
9.2.3 sub-license it to third parties or companies in our group;
9.2.4 republish it (or any version modified in the way described above) on any media anywhere in the world, including any Jagex Website.
9.3 You confirm that your entry:
9.3.1 is your own original work and does not breach any third party’s intellectual property rights (for example, by including a company’s trade mark without permission);
9.3.2 is not defamatory, offensive, threatening, discriminatory, distasteful, pornographic or illegal;
9.3.3 can be submitted to us and used without breaching any contractual obligation to any person; and
9.3.4 does not contain anything which may be confidential or commercially sensitive.
9.4 You are not entitled to any fees for granting the license and you are not entitled to terminate it unless we agree in writing.
9.5 If your entry contains photographs or video images of people, you must ensure that you inform them that you intend to use the material for the purposes of this competition and obtain their consent.
9.6 You agree that Jagex may, but is not required to, make your entry available on any Jagex Website and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. 10 DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY

11 GENERAL
11.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, Jagex may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
11.2 Jagex reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so, including if any law or regulation is inconsistent with these terms or where any law or regulation makes Jagex’s performance of these terms impossible, unlawful, illegal or unethical.
11.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by the law of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

6.4 In addition to clause 6.3, within one month of the Closing Date of the competition, anyone can request information of the major prize winners by emailing [email protected] or writing to: Competitions Team, Jagex Limited, 220 Cambridge Science Park, Cambridge, England, CB4 0WA.
6.5 If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact Jagex by emailing [email protected] or writing to: Competitions Team, Jagex Limited, 220 Cambridge Science Park, Cambridge, England, CB4 0WA. In such circumstances, Jagex must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request. Please see our privacy policy for further information regarding this.
7 CLAIMING THE PRIZE
7.1 If you are the winner of the prize, you will have 14 days from the Announcement Date to claim the prize by following the instructions set out in paragraph 5.5. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim to the prize will become invalid.
7.2 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
7.3 Jagex will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available or has not claimed their prize within 14 days of the Announcement Date, Jagex reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.
7.4 Jagex does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
8 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
8.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, Jagex, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Jagex, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
9 OWNERSHIP OF COMPETITION ENTRIES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
9.1 You will retain ownership of all intellectual property rights (including copyright) in your entry, but you agree to grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable license to use it for inclusion within Old School RuneScape and for any other purposes connected with this competition. This clause is subject to paragraph 9.2.
9.2 This license will last for the duration of the relevant intellectual property right and includes the right for us to:
9.2.1 edit or modify your entry (including resizing, adjusting the colour and adding elements such as text);
9.2.2 adapt it or incorporate it into other materials;
9.2.3 sub-license it to third parties or companies in our group;
9.2.4 republish it (or any version modified in the way described above) on any media anywhere in the world, including any Jagex Website.
9.3 You confirm that your entry:
9.3.1 is your own original work and does not breach any third party’s intellectual property rights (for example, by including a company’s trade mark without permission);
9.3.2 is not defamatory, offensive, threatening, discriminatory, distasteful, pornographic or illegal;
9.3.3 can be submitted to us and used without breaching any contractual obligation to any person; and
9.3.4 does not contain anything which may be confidential or commercially sensitive.
9.4 You are not entitled to any fees for granting the license and you are not entitled to terminate it unless we agree in writing.
9.5 If your entry contains photographs or video images of people, you must ensure that you inform them that you intend to use the material for the purposes of this competition and obtain their consent.
9.6 You agree that Jagex may, but is not required to, make your entry available on any Jagex Website and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant Jagex a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.
10 DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY
10.1 Jagex will only process your personal information as set out in its privacy policy. See also paragraphs 6.3 and 6.5, with regard to the announcement of winners.
11 GENERAL
11.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, Jagex may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
11.2 Jagex reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so, including if any law or regulation is inconsistent with these terms or where any law or regulation makes Jagex’s performance of these terms impossible, unlawful, illegal or unethical.
11.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by the law of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
