This blog marks an improvement over the old one, however I think it needs some major reworks for the minigame to be a success.

Lets start with what I like.

I like the idea of having different builds available to players, so everyone can experience different PvP scenarios, although I'm not sure if cycling through them is a good idea. Why can't we choose what type of fight we want?

I like the new ornament kits, although I wonder how often they'll be seen because you don't often see ornament kits from last man standing.

I wonder how the 400 available items will work. Will players be able to take items they can't use into fights? Will there be any rules to limit certain items, like the duel arena had?

I'm a little unsure about the changes to the minigame tab. Why does the PvP arena need it's own button as opposed to just being part of the minigame list?

All that being said, none of it really matters because the fundamental problems with this idea have not been addressed and arguable you've doubled down on them, which puts this update in a really bad starting position.

Lets start with the big one. Most rewards are almost exact copies of items that players play the game to get. They have slight stat tweaks and only work in PvP but it completely removes a huge chunk of making certain PvP builds and it allows some builds to access items that would otherwise be unavailable to them.
I feel like I shouldn't have to explain why this is bad but since the blog literally says "Do you hate having to complete quests..." and "We’ve come for quests, now it’s time for non-PvP minigames. Skip Barbarian Assault with our next item" then I am incredibly worried.

Questing and playing games for rewards is the backbone of OSRS. Every type of player has to do it. Some choose to avoid certain bits to gain advantages but generally that comes at a cost. These items bypass existing content and feel like the antithesis of the games progression. I question how they will "breath life" into the game and what the OSRS teams priorities are if you think this is a good idea. Clearly something is very wrong internally .

Another similar issue is sharing rewards with other minigames. Soul wars and nightmare zone already have the ability to imbue items. The reason you've provided is that this and soul wars are both PvP minigames, however why are you stopping at just these items? What makes these items different to castle wars armour or lil' creator?
Or on the other side, why is nightmare zone the only PvM minigame to have these items? You could add them to barbarian assault and pest control. \s

Two other issues I have with this.
First why use separate game save worlds? In general every minigame is available for anyone to play if you go to it's location. Some worlds are more active, especially if they're designated for that minigame.
Separate game worlds makes it feel like a completely different game that happens to reward you in RuneScape. Is there even a reason to head to the in game arena? You won't need to be there to start fights and you won't be able to watch other people fighting.

Finally who are you allowing to vote in this poll?
I assume the worse and it'll be an unpolled "integrity" update and the rewards poll will be limited to recent PvP players.
I hope this isn't the case as having a minigame that 75% of the entire community votes for would make more people interested in trying it out. As it stands I can't see myself or the majority of other players I know even trying it out.
Unfortunately saying that may have made you ignore my comment even more than usual, but that is a huge problem. We all want the game to succeed but ignoring huge portions of the community is not the way to do this.

I think this blog really misses the mark and shows a fundamental misunderstanding of OSRS as a game. For this minigame to succeed there needs to be a major rework of this blog, especially addressing the rewards that allow players to skip existing content.

Some of the wording in this poll blog makes me scratch my head as to what the future holds for this game. Hate quests, no big deal we got you covered. Hate mini games, not a problem. You think just because I enjoy PVM content I enjoy questing or some of these mini games?

If you want access to content in the game put in the work. To give boosted barrows gloves as an option without not only the quests themselves but all the skills required to do them? Fighter torso with better stats because you don’t like mini games? Glass cannon prayers because your PVP build doesn’t allow you to do the quests to unlock the real ones?

I’m not gonna sit here and pretend to know anything about PVP cause it has 0 interest to me. But skipping content to reap better rewards? If that’s the case can I skip some of the quests to have access to a lot of the PVM content? Every time I read “Do you hate having to complete quests before your account is ready to step foot into the Wilderness and fight other players?” Why is that not reworded to any quest/PVM situation and you can sit there and laugh at that ridiculous statement.

So basically these are items that allow content locked accounts to get items they should not have (High level prayers) Items that require grinding (Fighter Torso) and items that are behind long quest chains. (Barrows gloves) At little to no effort because why? Because they are upset they are content locked? These people knew what they were doing when they made their account, they were okay with it. This is on par with making the game easier for Ironmen because they complain about having to farm their own herbs. They knew that going into it just as PvP players know they are content locking themselves by not doing certain quests, or lvling certain stats.

I'm all for new PvP content, I love watching it but catering to PvP players and giving them special items that let them circumvent HOURS of game play is absurd.

If the items stats were LOWER, id agree, but the Centurion Cuirass Has higher Melee defence. So this replaces the Fighter Torso, its not an optional version if its better...
And the Wristbands of the Arena (i) is a direct upgrade to the Barrows Gloves. Just straight up better with no downside. the "Downside" proposed is 40 Defence, but you can complete RFD with 41 Defence, so why wouldn't you just get these instead?

If anything make these items ONLY work in PvP worlds, and i'm cool with that.

I do love the idea of having a set of "Void" armor that works only in PvP. No complaints there as it only works in PvP and is a sidegrade to void and not just straight up better.

TLDR: We should not be making items that are better than already existing items for content locked accounts. If these players want these items they should have to get them like every other player, HOWEVER making weaker, or alternative items that only works in PvP is fine by me.
