I like the changes made to the Soul Wars minigame. It has made the minigame way more fun to play! Soul Wars is now one of my favorites.
While the island has easy access to some interesting resources and monsters, it feels like it has a story that hasn't been told. What I'm saying is it doesn't feel really integrated with the rest of the game yet, and I'm hoping future updates might bring a quest, clue, story book, etc that does this.
I'm a little underwhelmed with the reward shop still...
Reward Shop:
I purchased an Ectoplasmator and was immediately disappointed I couldn't bring it into the minigame. I understand you don't want players to be killing ghosts instead of playing the game, but killing a few ghosts is part of the game. Even allowing the ectoplasmator to reward prayer xp for 5-10 ghosts per game would make it gather less dust in my bank.
The cape would be a much more substantial reward if players could bring it into the game too. If they spent 2500 points on it, they deserve some extra prayer stats. Prayer stats might seem useless because the potion provides free prayer, but having to drink less potion during combat and less drain when being smited by players at the avatar can make a difference. Think about how much people enjoy showing off their Castle Wars armour in the waiting areas! The cape would toggle to the correct color of your team while playing a game, have its toggle function disabled for the remainder of the game, and toggle back to whatever it was set to before the game.
It also seems like there was a missed opportunity to allow Nomad's points to grant access to features/content on the island he has claimed.
I don't think I will personally use the points on blighted items, but understand others might.
Now that I'm done imbuing, buying the ectoplasmator, and avoiding the cape, I'm spending my points on xp because soul wars is less repetitive than Pest Control in my mind right now.
