THIS. Stop with the unpolled changes you are ruining the nostalgia of the game. This continued behavior and I'm out. Typical Jagex.

Yeah! How DARE Jagex put something new to tease membership and possibly help them win more members over from F2P! How DARE they make content to separate OSRS from RS3. /s

Nostalgia can go suck it. I don't play for nostalgia, I play to have fun. I'm sure I'm not in a minority here; it is only a game and if you don't like it, tough luck, feel free to leave.
Oh, I almost forgot.
Oh, I already forgot.

@Stinkowing I bet you can't wait for the HD update either clown

"feel free to leave"

"feel free to leave"

Definitely the words of someone who claims to want players to play and buy membership

Is this not old school runescape any more? I mean its fun and all but... please don't make sweeping changes without polling. I approve of the changes, itll be even easier to get to kourend now. But.... it doesn't seem like the others approve of it and that does concern me. Can't afford to alienate the classic playerbase. That's the only reason i even came back. Nostalgia. Oh and i've probably spent 200 dollars in the last 2 months so that wouldn't be in your pockets if this game was like eoc.

I am very disappointed in the moving of the dock to draynlr village, it is totally misfit for the location of the connection to the great island of kourend. Where it was before was a perfect location since it was lately discovered and the fire made sense to the story line to expand the docks. Draynlr village has nothing to do with kourend, nor any docks. If anything why isn't the ship from dragon slayer (Lady lumbridge) in draynor? I really hope you will move back the dock to where it was before. Furthermore this should have been polled given it being a mayor change, being a huge way further to kourend when one uses rimmington house portal to get to port sarim.

I have a few suggestions surrounding X Marks the Spot.

I just got done playing X Marks the Spot, and honestly I wasn't impressed. The quest is actually just a treasure trail (similar to You Are It in RS3), which feels like a cop-out. I am okay with ONE quest being a treasure trail but please don't ever pass another quest off like this again. The only reason it makes sense is because F2P don't have treasure rails so this helps to introduce the mechanics.

I was also dissapointed because the quest doesn't seem like it makes a tie between Zeah and the mainland, it just seems like it mentions that Zeah exists and then has you give Veos something which doesn't serve any immediate purpose. For new players who know nothing about Zeah, I can't imagine this makes them feel any particular excitement for Zeah's story; if anything it seems like it just informs you that something evil might be there and you can get there from Draynor if you want to. Maybe the purpose is lost on me since I have been to Zeah a fair amount already, but I'm not honestly convinced the mainland and Zeah are at all related yet. Whatever was in the box could be anything.

Lastly, I love the new bar in Lumbridge, but was hoping it could be touched up a bit. Maybe adding a porch on the west side and/or adding some outdoor seating would be nice. Also putting a few more NPCs inside, and adding a mounted Ram's head on the wall so it actually feels like a proper Sheep Shearer bar . Maybe one of the patrons at the bar can be a goblin who wants help ordering a drink, and maybe the barkeep can point you to several nearby quests in Lumby instead of just Veos, as well as providing directions to Varrock, Falador, Al-Kharid and Draynor, to help newbies explore more.

Also the sign outside the bar looks extra thick and blocky for some reason.

Overall I am happy with the new additions. Thanks Jagex!

After reading these other posts I can see the issue with the dock and bar. While personally I am not upset about either, since I feel that neither inherently destroy the location they're used in, I can definitely see how these were really unexpected.

Probably let us know about these kinds of changes in the future BEFORE you put them in. Both of these do change familiar areas that are a selling point for people who are coming back to the game for nostalgia. If they come back and find that the nostalgia has been changed you may loose their business forever.

Despite this I am not against leaving these as they are for now unless they become ragingly unpopular.

To the guy complaining that a few planks of wood ruined Draynor Village: I've been playing on and off since early 2004 and I understand that Draynor Village is only good for two things - cutting willows and questing. A dock ruins neither of these things and, in fact, contributes to free-to-play questing (as has always been the nature of Draynor Village).

I don't see your problem.
