Any mobile news is good news!

Any plan to do the invite criteria a bit differently when we move into the open beta state? When I purchased the
Razer Phone
(Special Edition, btw!) I thought I was easily set for an invite, since it's a pretty niche phone compared to other android phones, such as the
galaxy series
.
However, when invites went out, I didn't see a single person mention they had a
Razer Phone
, which is probably the case because you guys seem to do a lot of
Razer Phone
testing internally...

It would be nice if the open invites would acknowledge dedication to the game in a broader sense. That would be things like, being
maxed
or high total, being very active, or having
gold premier club
(which historically always got in early on beta things).

The amount played, along with total level etc. is actually one of the things we do look at. I'm not particularly keen on having Premier Club as guaranteed entry if I'm honest. It's imperative we look at the device and play history. After all, it's for testing purposes only, not a reward! Community Manager for Old School RuneScape

For the first android release, it was stated that the only factors was device and activity, nothing about total level (Those often go hand in hand, but not always). I know it's primarily for testing, but open betas are also different from closed betas, but it sounds like the criteria wont change at all?

I'm pretty much low key asking if I doomed myself by purchasing a Razer Phone :(

Its awesome that we are getting so close to OSRS Mobile release and i can't wait to give it a try, i have maybe 4 friends that promised they would get back into OSRS upon release.

Also, i noticed at least 4 typos/ incorrect spellings, and as im sure you guys must be super busy you guys might have missed, but anyways i will note them below if you want a quick fix:

In February we opened Old School Mobile up to you, the players, for the first time. 2,000 of you took part in the testing and since then we’ve been tirelessly
analysing
analyzing
performance data,
scrutinising
scrutinizing
the feedback and engagement metrics to verify our assumptions about the state of the current mobile client. All of this allowed us to confirm that the next steps we want to take are the right ones.

The Android Limited Beta feedback made one thing clear. Even in its current state, the players who tested it felt that it was great. We surveyed the testers and the overwhelming consensus was that it was responsive, the control mechanics are suitable, and the application mostly
meets
met
your expectations. It isn’t particularly surprising to us that existing players are happy with the utility of mobile. Rather pointedly, the players who have been able to try Mobile so far have been quite adept at the game, and so are very good at learning how to operate it. Any criticisms of Mobile centered on the usability of certain features, which we'll cover
late
(later?)
in the blog. Whilst the testers were generally happy, there's still significant work to be done in making Mobile more intuitive for inexperienced players too. So, rather than rest on our laurels, we’re paying particular attention to what players felt needed improvement. Here’s what we’re going to be doing next.

Hi!

Have you considered to add an extra button which acts as the shift button? Meaning, if you press the button + press an item in inv. it will drop the item. This button can also be used for other purposes like the bank solution you suggested in the post. If you hold the 'shift' button + press item in bank it will withdraw the number of items you've preset whereas if you dont press the 'shift' button it will withdraw only 1. This way you do not have to adjust the withdraw-x button every time you want to change from withdraw-1 to withdraw-all for example. Also, you can use this 'shift' button for hovering over prayers and magic spells to give information about what they do or amount of runes they need. If you press the 'shift' button + click on an worn armour piece, like ring of glory, it will directly open the all-options menu. There are many uses I can think of to use this button for. I feel like this would greatly increase the gaming experience.

What do you think of this solution?

I dont like the proposed auto login i feel it should be optional and if it was i would always have this feature off as if my device is stolen or messed about with my hardcore could be killed and lose its status.

Also i play 2 main accounts maybe play for instance my hardcore for a few days then give that a break and play my other main so when i want to swap it will be more difficult.

Auto login with no option to turn it off will certainly put me off playing mobile.
