"12 Days of Dragon Sleigher will begin from the 25th December! This is a brand new community event in which players will be given daily riddles via our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to solve in game. This will then cause 20 minutes of holiday items to spawn based on how many people are in the location at the time! Make sure you keep on eye on all of our social channels!"
Yet again, you completely ignore the forums for these sorts of things.
Could we PLEASE have some interactions on the forums for things like this? Or are players who choose not to have Jagex plastered across there social media accounts destined to miss out as usual?
Not really impressed...
I'll re-quote this, seeing as a Mod has had the time to be grateful someone said thank you, but not enough time to actually respond to this reasonable request/response to the announcement of "12 days of sleighmas" event or whatever it is.
Really unimpressed now.
I understand your frustration and we definitely want to do more with the forums going forward, but this was specifically aimed at our social channels (hence why Reddit was also excluded). I'll make sure I send over a note to the social team though, as it would be nice to get everyone here more involved for future events.
I appreciate you taking a moment to respond to my post.
I have no issue with social channels being used for bits of events, breaking news and so on and so forth, however, it should be across all platforms in my own opinion, as in this case obviously forum only users such as myself are missing out.
Thank you again for your reply, and thank you for passing the note to the social team.
Merry Christmas all, I really love all the little things you did with this update like the snow, christmas pudding cannonballs, and some of the in-game creatures sporting christmas head wear. Really neat of you guys.
Good to see an update on the Barbarian Assault rework progress. Since it is ready for testing, I'm wondering if something could be done similar to what was done for fight caves before the inferno release. Maybe a tournament world could be added with Barbarian Assault minigame enabled, so those of us in the BA community could test out the changes? That way you have the most experienced players testing the update before it goes live, and feedback can be given if any changes should be made.
It's probably asking too much but figured I would put it out there. I just don't want to see the attacker role botched and have to wait several months after the update hits to get it fixed. Please consider
This event was awesome, I loved the storyline and the little things around game such as imps with partyhats, runners with santa hats & my cannon balls have been cooked in to christmas puddings over night
I'm doing the Christmas Event, and it seems there's some interaction with Tock. I haven't done the Corsair's Curse yet, and I'd like to take my time getting around to that, but I don't have to do that quest just for this event, do I? At the very least, it seems I have to start the quest to get to Corsair's Cove. I'm sure you can understand it's a bit weird to interrupt a Christmas holiday event just to start a Dragon Slayer II pre-release quest so you can continue on with the Christmas event.
It's similar to how I was doing Fairy Tale Part I and had to put that on hold to do Jungle Potion because one of the randomly assigned items I need for Fairy Tale was an item specific to Jungle Potion. Fortunately Jungle Potion was quick and easy, but still, can't say I'm enthusiastic about having to go off and do a whole different quest in the middle of one I'm currently doing. So I hope that's not the case here.
Edit: Well, after a bit of searching I found Santa. I'd recommend adding a line of dialogue about Christmas for Tock at Corsair's Curse's quest starting point. Add an option "About Christmas" where Tock says he saw Santa at Corsair's Cove and possibly have Tock take players to Santa instead of having to start Corsair's Curse, if they already haven't. Alternatively, you could move Santa closer to the docks or put a holiday marker on the map for Santa's location in the cove.
Here, I'll give you this strawberry if you keep it a secret!
