People saying no to this because "omg rs3" are literally retarded. It's an update from 2007. :l

Unfortunately so was the worst update in the game, the grand exchange and free trade removal. Still, I'd take ZMI, it's somewhat faster exp for no money in comparison to the alternatives which sorta cancels it, I can't imagine anyone using it except people going for 200m unless making souls is truly that much faster (and even that's a lot of work)

I think it would be a great idea. As long as the experience gained is roughly within the margin you would get from other methods. (2x xp per rune, but the runes are random, so you may get more xp than an inv of bloods or less xp than an inv of natures).

I think it would be a great addition, just to add something different to runecrafting. Runecrafting for myself has been one of, if not the most difficult skill to level due to the monotonous task of doing it and the low x/h that comes with it. Of course the profit is nice.

As far as work, they've stated it is pretty much finished in development, so why not add it? I myself would give this a try, just for the simple "Random runes". Seems more appealing than just simply making natures/lavas/astrals runes all day to grind out xp.

to you ge was the worst update, to many others it was a good update.
not everyone wants to wait hours to sell items
and to many scammers with out ge.

any ways on topic, 100% full support, hope it passes.

I disagree with this potential update. This altar will heavily devalue the appreciation of the RC cape. The game is gradually getting easier over time (Wintertodt) even though we play osrs for the challenging aspect. Why would we want this game to be made easier? If I wanted to play RS3 I would.

Wintertodt didn't devalue the firemaking cape. People did a TON of it because, we'll its new contents, the rewards were good and a lot of people such as muchself find spending hours upon hours lighting log after log to be painful.

experience wise for Wintertodt, it wasn't huge. at 99 you could gain roughly 300-320k xp/h, with decent attention.

Burning redwood logs gives an average of over 500kxp/h. it would take me roughly 45 hours to get from 1-99 fm using the best logs.

Wintertodt, took me 45 hours to get from 85-99, coming in at about 65-70 hours for 99 Wintertodt, and that's if you're paying attention and being able to get the 500 points each game.

Wintertodt = less gp spent on logs + some loot. 70 hours (+)
Firemaking = more gp spent on logs and no loot. 45 hours.

that leaves you with another 25 hours of gameplay to be used elsewhere. such as... making profit.

Now this gives people two options. Do they not mind the new wintertodt minigame? spend the extra hours to get 99 and make profit.
Like burning logs normally? speed through to 99 leaving yourself lots of time to spare elsewhere.

So it offeres a bit more xp boost, and less money boost. Well, pick your poison. we won't be getting 300kxp/h, and no loot, or 5kxp/h and making bank.

Its about the variety. Knowing I can go somewhere if i don't like it where im at is why I like runescape so much. The options are endless

The counter argument of the addition of ge while removing free trade were both bad updates, is in fact invalid.

Were these emergency measures not implemented, there would be NO Runescape.

Unless of course you would have preferred the servers to go dark...
