I think that once a flagged account is moved to the special worlds, their character should be stuck on that specific world until they are fully investigated and confirmed as a bot which would hurt runite ore bots extremely hard and other bots that collect finite resources such as items spawns (white berries, cactus, etc). Those bots would simply give up with the sheer number of bots competing.

I don't think normal players should have access to those worlds, unless they add pvp everywhere including banks however if it's dangerous or safe pvp is another question. Seems extremely silly that you would split bots from humans but then allow humans to enter those worlds, seems extremely counter productive.

DO NOT ALLOW NON-FLAGGED ACCOUNTS ON THOSE WORLDS.

EDIT:

Here's some decent ideas, it seems like your system is already picking up on woodcutting bots as i've personally seen literally 50 bots at the seers yew trees:

- Slow down the re-spawn rates on yew trees by 100%.

- Increase the frequency of random events 10 fold.

- Increase the frequency of tree ents by 10 fold.

Do everything and anything possibly to waste their time and slow them down, even make them lose experience chopping trees instead of gaining so eventually they'll be back to under 60 woodcutting which would make it impossible for them to chop yew trees and whatever.

The new system isn't picking up on all skills. Woodcutting I see is getting hit hard. While fishing is empty on the botting world. System is broken for some skills just letting you know.

Maybe they're only testing certain skills/spots atm?

Okay, so the whole thing looks good. Now a question though, how will you monitor these suspects? Honestly, if this system is efficient for your testing of small areas, how will it do on a much larger scale? Say the new system takes out ~2k bots in 1 hour of monitoring, how is a small dedicated team to search through all 2k suspects in a timely fashion? Of course, they will only be able to monitor a short number of them. For watching on multiple runs, I would say the estimated time on evaluated one of these suspects is probably around 5-10 minutes. That means 10,000 minutes(~166 Hours) of time is needed to look at the initial 2k suspects. We all know that thousands of bots are on simultaneously.

I have full faith in the OSRS Team in taking out these bots, and sure hope to see such faith turn into success. What I'm not getting though, is the time you guys put into looking at all of these, surely a good percentage of these bots will still go untouched, catch themselves in the loop, and evade the inspecting eyes of the team. Now wouldn't it be more effective in putting in game mechanics to detect bots? Multiple game mechanics?

What I mean is each of our character files must be saved to a certain folder/system of folders where the game can access it. Now why can't the same system of saving what we did in game, be incorporated into saving how we played the game? Say a mirror file to the account info that saved all of our in-game clicks. Most bots as I would assume use model/color detection. I would feel they would click the same part of an object multiple times. An honest person most likely does not click the same exact coordinate 1000s of times in a row, but is slightly off every time. Wouldn't it be easier to just write a system to record your clicks? Surely you can see that a bot inside an interface will hit the same exact coordinate, over and over. Map out the OSRS game area, and you have an cartesian plane with a set amount of coords.

Now a normal 'honest' player might click the 'x' on top of their bank interface, but will rarely hit it in the same exact spot over and over. A bot has no choice, a bot will always click the same spot. A bot will always click the same coord inside the inventory interface for certain items. So now when they're isolated you can record a series of clicks, or even when they're not isolated. If such 'player' clicks the same spot 999/1000 times, they must be a bot. If such 'player' hits a series or multiple of 10 different spots in one area, so clicks the same spot 100-250/1000 times, they're obviously honest. The thing that make bots are repetitiveness, they are programmed to do 1 task, over and over again. Whilst a normal player will do that task over and over, but won't be as efficient as a bot, because we are human, and not perfect. I'd dare anyone to try to hit the same spot multiple times in a series of actions, hit every target spot on. You'd be so consumed in obtaining that 'perfect' hit, that you would run maybe at 5% efficiency.

Also, why not make it so you have to use an official RS client? Such as the web client or the desktop client modded to load multiple configurations? Wouldn't that be a super simple way to destroy them? Maybe just supply a download, and if it isn't signed to RS, it can't load the game. I am sure there is a lot more to doing that than just saying it, but what I'm saying is it isn't impossible. This would wipe-out bots that have their own client, and force bots to use a 'mask' over the client to run, and therefore being more easily detectable.

Also flagged accounts should remain 'stuck' until fully investigated. I don't like how they can log out and go back into a real world, as that can easily be scripted to them, we all know how advanced they are.

Anyways keep up the good work, and I cannot wait to see the effectiveness of this update. You have brought us a lot, and want to see what you bring us in the future. Thanks.

So not rolled out til thursday? So is this 'oldschool## a .runescape.*** I'm seeing in the url a part of that update, or am I playing on a different game now?

Did I get hijacked without my knowledge?

Or is this 'a' part of your plan and nothing to worry about?

I noticed the "a" in the url, also. It kinda freaked me out at first and I had to go back and check to see if the other worlds had the "a" too.
