Participating in activities in Kourend which require 100% alignment no longer reduce your alignment in other houses.

someone explain this to me

i was under the impression that you couldn't have favor anywhere else if you had 100% somewhere.

Where was the poll on the Runecrafting 'nerf' ? You add something to the game, 99% like it, then this? Tsk tsk.

The simple fact is, what ended up in game was not in line with what we polled. We offered a high-effort method of Runecrafting and most people doing it were spending minutes AFK. The change was made to make sure that the content that ended up in game was as described in the poll and developer blogs.

It will still be an enjoyable, unique and profitable way for you to train Runecrafting after this change, just less AFK. You'll have to switch rocks a few times per inventory which is not an unreasonable level of activity to expect for Runecrafting.

Refer to Ash's post below for a slightly more detailed explanation of the decision.

It's not unusual for us to tweak recent updates after launch based on feedback and balancing concerns. Since Zeah came out, we accelerated the favour-gathering, nerfed Arceuus book XP, buffed some drop tables and shuffled NPCs around. And changed the interaction with the dense essence rocks.

In the case of the dense essence rocks, players had legitimately expected the activity to require more effort than it did. It was not completely AFK (as claimed) since players still needed to interact with the game to chisel the essence - especially if they wanted to do it fast - and to run back and forth to the altars to bind it, but in comparison to other RC methods it wasn't high enough effort.

The decision was not made by counting posts for/against, but by considering the actual arguments being made on each side.

Also, it seemed people were getting slightly higher XP rates than polled anyway.

The change is fairly minimal, so it isn't turning into another click-fest, but it will require a little more attention and interaction if you're trying to get optimal XP rates.

As for why we didn't poll it, you'll recall that it didn't go well when we tried to get 75% of players to agree on rebalancing NMZ to reduce splashing there. Ultimately, we are not going to be able to poll balancing issues, and I'm afraid we cannot offer to do so in future. I appreciate you'd really prefer to keep in control of all these details, but I don't believe it's going to be good for the game to leave all such things unaddressed.

Removal of Deadman Worlds? Where does it say anything about that in the update file?

Also regarding the RC thingy its just pathetic that Max players always get what they want.
Max players / Top notch runecrafters cried everywhere that their Runecrafting got devalued because you could semi-afk the mining part of Runecrafting, Ronan then went on to the stream to defend it saying "Its good with variation for the Runecrafting skill" but now they still changed it to please the max players/runecrafters. Sadly Zeah was meant to be mid-level content for casuals but max players still manage to shape it the way they want with the power they have, because they will be sad to see other people progress in Runecrafting.

I appreciate the constant updates but I feel PVM updates are more common than skilling updates. I really would like to see a balance in updates regarding skilling and PVM. Woodcutting has yet to see a new beneficial tree, mining is yet to see a new ore which can be used in smithing new armour/weapons etc. We need something skillers can actually be hyped about.

FFS.
