You wouldn't be able to use your Whip for the following if it degrades:

Castle Wars
Pest Control
Questing

Having it degradable furthers the focus that everything is time and money related which is the mentality many of us left from RS3

Please explain how you would not be able to use a whip for castle wars, pest control or questing.

At the cost of 225k an hour only the very rich would be able to use it. That is was makes the whip so amazing in the first place, anyone can use it anywhere/

For training maybe... But you won't do 2000 hits an hour at the activities you just mentioned. I only use like 250 cbow charges an hour at cwars for example.

And I didn't leave rs3 because of items that degrade....

And why do you need an upgraded whip at pest control?

Pking definitely does NOT need more OP items. Especially the 10% magic damage boost is just way too much. You have 85 magic please do not make suggestions if you do not know what you are talking about.

Please, adding 10% more mage damage on top of Staff of light(of the dead) would just be stupid. Don't make it 2013 again with ridiculous 40 damage ice barrages.

I laughed at this moron. Funny how he comments yet all I see him do is rag range with an AGS in PvP worlds. Power ammy, black d'hide and an AGS. The lulz are real.

Once again, support the fact it will have a huge impact on PKer's and none of us want this in the PK scene, apart from maybe the kids that sit in PvP worlds and just barrage/AGS rush people from a safe spot.

Clearly have the wrong person bud. I haven't DDoSed anyone and I'm highly against this, it ruins the community and has done since 2009. Single PKing was destroyed by it. And being a co-leader of a single team for 5 years why would I want to ruin the scene I love so much?

But then again, people believe whatever they hear on the internet. Whatever helps you sleep at night I guess.

You could also say the Tentacle is a living breathing thing! It grows in power everytime you feed it a whip.

You can 'feed' your tentacle up to 6 Whips which increases its attack bonuses two point each and its strength and pray by one point.

This would mean your tentacle whip would have maxed stats of +94 Slash and +88 Str and +6 Prayer.

In addition to this it would require the consumption of 6 whips in order to reach this status. You could keep the special attack but have a clause where the tentacle reverts back to its unendowed form if dropped in wildy.
I might like this idea more but there's an issue with what happens when it gets dropped. It could potentially be a very powerful weapon with no real risk.

I like the ideas, nicely balanced.

Disappointed at the lack of a new range weapon though. Melee is already by far the most powerful combat style for slayer/pvm/general dps, a new range weapon would have been preferable to me personally.

Magic is inherently broken for pvm/slayer and a new amulet won't change that, though it is a start.

awsome idea, altough maybe +6 pray a bit to much but still this is much better then always feeding it one whip each 10k hits

This idea would let lower levels build up their tentacle over time as opposed to making it a carbon copy of a degrading barrows type item. Think defenders and RFD gloves. Feed it one at a time when you come across extra money. Proud 28%er

We're heading to the point where you could be at pre-eoc;

I could hit 542 with mage, use vengeance, have 200ish slash def, heal with ss and have only 100 combat with 1m risk. Obviously I "abused" it for free loot but it was completely stupid. Well my opinion here won't matter too much since 90% of the playerbase is disgusting skillers anyway.

I agree entirely. Some of the best fun to be had with slayer is through using new weapons, FINALLY!! I was very excited by this new whip idea, I love the bind special attack, could be great fun in castle warts or against ghouls. However having to constantly replace a weapon would be kind of a drag. I like this idea of combining several whips into this, maybe it can have several whip heads like a bull whip lol.
