We considered both toys and pets and the design decision came down in favour of toys.
This also means that pets can keep their kudos level, without 4 extra pets coming in from a holiday event

@Mod Krista: Understood, but shouldn't you poll it so the players decide what fits more? Toys or Pets?

Also I would like to state as a non-PVM person, why aren't there any other pets, only boss pets?
Personally I don't see myself going bossing and etc and I bet there are many more people who don't go Bossing, skillers and others. Why can't you guys release some other kinds of pets?

Like if you're hunting, you can get a chance to get that pet. So if a player hunts Chinchompas, there is a 1/5000 chance that he can get a Chinchompa pet. A Fox pet would be cool to have, or even a bunny just like Nieve! Think about it. Sometimes I post some cool and fun stuff, see for yourself!

@The Blank as someone who is totally useless at bossing etc I can see the appeal of non-boss pets.
It's something that a lot of players would have an opinion on, and could be quite controversial - and would make an interesting poll.

These are things that are definitely discussed though.

cant wait to get a toy! thanks alot for bringing this i saw it on rs3 and was hoping we would get this here thanks! and ya i think more cool pets that are non boss would be awesome (proud owner of 2 fully grown cats :)

The update isn't working for me. I've repaired all the fences and it still says that there are more to repair. I've done all the tasks except for the bridge and I still can't get any of the toys even though everyone else has them.
