I've always thought runescape could do with more... randomness. And I don't mean triple the number of evil chickens we get.

Roaming NPCs

NPCs all behave in a predictable manner. They spawn in the same place, stay where they're supposed to and never do much out of the ordinary. I actually quite liked revenants on the old game. The unpredictability they brought was exciting and almost made up for the immense mess up of removing PVP in the wilderness (well, almost).

So my idea is this. More free roaming NPCs. They don't have to be high level ghost dragons which freeze and poison you. How about some guard patrols marching around the city? A gang of bandits roaming the desert looking for a lost soul to rob. A pack of hungry wild dogs in the wilderness, chewing on the bones of some unfortunate runite miner who crossed their path.

I know this isn't strictly a skilling update, but the potential is there to make it whatever you want. Maybe a certain roaming NPC offers big thieving bonus EXP if you can find him and pickpocket? Maybe some kind of roaming rock or wood creature who can be mined/chopped for a worthwhile resource?

Anyway, that would be my suggestion if I could just have one implemented in the game. Roaming NPCs could provide a great deal of entertainment and amusement.

Guys come on let's be mature now we should add a ge because it helps the economy please jmods we need ge because world 1 is 70% merching bots we need to get rid of then they made the game bad the merchant bots buy and sell they made the economy bad if we put a ge we will get rid of tons of Bots and it will be better so my final thing is
Putting ge on 2007 rs=getting rid of all merching bots and better economy and easier to buy supplies for skilling

Flaming Arrows Skill: A Combat-Related Extension of Firemaking
Currently, range is devoid of a method to freeze opponents. As the OSRS knows, in RS3 ebolas were released alongside Jadinkos to create an item that could be used with range to “freeze” opponents. As we also know, ebolas were a bit overpowered in terms of PVP use in Castle Wars and in the Wild. Theoretically, what could be introduced into the game as a range freezer idea is that of FLAMING ARROWS.

In the Underground Pass quest, we see the player making flaming arrows with various objects. A simple extension of this could be being able to make various tiered arrows such as bronze, iron, steel, mithril, adamant, rune and dragon have the capability to be turned into flaming arrows. The tiering of which arrows a user can turn into these arrows would be based on firemaking level.

In theory, the corresponding firemaking level needed to turn a regular arrow into a flaming arrow would look something like this:
Level 30 Firemaking----Bronze
Level 40 Firemaking---Iron
Level 50 Firemaking----Steel
Level 60 Firemaking----Mithril
Level 70 Firemaking----Adamant
Level 80 Firemaking---Rune
Level 90 Firemaking---Dragon

The hope is that this incentive would make firemaking have a useful and high-tiered component, while motivating players to want something that can benefit them in combat. Potentially, firemakers who purchase the arrows on the market and turn them into flaming arrows can make profit.

The theory is that this would make arrows on par with bolts once more. The exact % of the time that a flaming arrow is capable of “paralyzing/freezing” an opponent can be adjusted to a level that isn’t overpowered.

Thanks for taking the time to consider this,.

The reason its only a skilling update is because almost every update so far has been combat based... (major updates that is)

the thing wrong with that reason, even though that is the actual reason jagex made it only skilling content.. is that skilling updates arent rly something most people want, not even those that really skill and lv up to play really expect extra skill content to come into the game.. So it really is something jagex should be a shamed of to only take the player made content ideas to a bare minimum of only making it skilling updates player made content.

I disagree.
A. It could be an item that is not able to be used in PVP
B. The best PVPers are good at bridding....it just gives them another tool in the tool box

It could go either way.
I just think if I could potentially be able to "paralyze" an aberrent spectre 1/100 arrows, then maybe it could make slayer a bit more interesting, while incentivizing myself or someone to make the arrows.

@Ashley

Rangers can Poison and make their arrows on fire [if your update was added]

Melee players can poisons only daggers [I think?]

Mages can use whatever spell that poisons others from the Ancient magics book.
