A few hours ago, we made a small change to the way that chinchompas deal damage in the main God Wars Dungeon. The change has now been reverted.
Chinchompas act on multiple NPCs or players; if you are lucky enough to hit your first target, the chinchompa will proceed to hit all the others as well, whereas if you fail to hit the first target, the chinchompa will fail to hit the others. As a consequence of this, experienced players know to aim the chinchompa at the weakest of the targets, since this makes them more likely to hit all of them.
In the God Wars Dungeon, where the bosses are accompanied by weaker bodyguards, players had reported that this feature was overpowered because the bodyguards' weakness made it so easy to achieve hits on the more powerful bosses, and that the bosses were therefore dying too quickly.
To address this, we changed the chinchompa multi-target behaviour to hit or miss each target based on the target's defence, rather than hitting all or none.
However, in consideration of the high cost of chinchompas, and the limited spawn rate of the bosses, and the reasonable level of skill involved in fighting in the GWD, we have now put the original behaviour back.
So nothing's actually changed. However, we will continue to monitor the chinchompas, as their behaviour in these situations remains concerning.
Apologies for the confusion about the situation.
