Chinchompa Tweak

A few hours ago, we made a small change to the way that chinchompas deal damage in the main God Wars Dungeon. The change has now been reverted.

Chinchompas act on multiple NPCs or players; if you are lucky enough to hit your first target, the chinchompa will proceed to hit all the others as well, whereas if you fail to hit the first target, the chinchompa will fail to hit the others. As a consequence of this, experienced players know to aim the chinchompa at the weakest of the targets, since this makes them more likely to hit all of them.

In the God Wars Dungeon, where the bosses are accompanied by weaker bodyguards, players had reported that this feature was overpowered because the bodyguards' weakness made it so easy to achieve hits on the more powerful bosses, and that the bosses were therefore dying too quickly.

To address this, we changed the chinchompa multi-target behaviour to hit or miss each target based on the target's defence, rather than hitting all or none.

However, in consideration of the high cost of chinchompas, and the limited spawn rate of the bosses, and the reasonable level of skill involved in fighting in the GWD, we have now put the original behaviour back.

So nothing's actually changed. However, we will continue to monitor the chinchompas, as their behaviour in these situations remains concerning.

Apologies for the confusion about the situation. O_o

Lets be reasonable, I'd wager most chins were used to get 99range not to kill kree'arra and her minions.
"When history witnesses a great change, Razgriz reveals itself... first, as a dark demon. As a demon, it uses its power to rain death upon the land, and then it dies. However, after a period of slumber, Razgriz returns, this time, as a great hero"

This method existed since the release of the gwd (even though black chins made it a bit better) and wasnt overpowered considering the cost/time required to get chins, and the extra difficulty versus camping cbow and waiting till arma dies. I dont get why this is removed without poll or anything.

This exactly. Chinning armadyl wasn't even OP, taking into account the high price of the chinchompas.

there's no way this was changed without a poll, so sad...

But this wasn't even overpowered... The kills were faster, but way more expensive and required more attention. It was a legitimate pvm method and a viable alternative to the standard crossbow method. Way to bash creativity.
