I agree with Huey's post 100% and really wished people stuck to what they voted on for the survey. However after given some time and thought I have tried to come up with a list of pros as to why a centralized location for GE can be good:
1. The GE itself won't become a ghost area , meaning it would just kinda be there with nobody at it. Why go to it unless just for pure nostalgia? I understand people would still need to decant their things there, but it still kinda defeats the whole purpose of having the actual GE.
2. I feel the cities aren't populated enough as it is . The people that are in the cities skilling and hanging out (thinking of Seer's bank) is mostly because of trading purposes. Resources are nearby, trying to be efficient, or both especially if you're an Ironman. While fletching at that Seer's bank for an example, they may be passively waiting for someone that's selling or buying more fletching materials. With GE this part now becomes mostly irrelevant.
3. Continuation of #2, the spread out players in the near-empty cities can all come together for one centralized location. Even on RS3 some players still skilled at the banks in major cities, so they won't become completely empty still.
4. Maybe this can be repolled later to have GE access using trading post furniture in all banks down the road. In which case this isn't the end for the cities. Things do get repolled eventually, such as the grimy herbs.
Again, I am against having a centralized location, but this is the best optimism I can do with GE being in one spot. Tbh, I'm happy with GE at all in the end and it's still a big step forward for me.
