whatever happened to the challenge in old school runescape, adding the G.E. just makes things easier and takes away from that. osrs made you get up and go do something if you wanted something. its just not old school runescape with the GE. honestly just going to make it easier for people to manipulate the game, but lets be optimistic (lol) maybe it won't ruin the game.

old school for life

Why? What are the downsides to it being accessible via banks?

It's funny, I think this is probably the most pointless update/blog i've read, It actually makes no sense whatsoever.

If the grand exchange is in every bank, why would there need to be a central location for the grand exchange? everyone would just use a bank, as it's far more convenient. A hundred different banks, or a single location? It's common sense, come on now. The poll should be about one or the other, not both.

(shouting removed, sic) Please someone answer my question: Why r we having a main-big building Grand Exchange in Varrock, if were having it accessable in every bank in every city of Runescape?

Why have a main big building? Because many people say they want it for sentimental reasons, like it "was". They all piled into Varrock West Bank and refused to leave, shouting trade orders at each other and complaining on the forums that they weren't getting anything done, and now they want to go do the same thing at the GE while waiting for their junk to sell.

Why have it accessible from every other bank? For all the rest of us. Here's a hint: "I don't understand how people can NOT want the GE to come, if you don't like it then just don't use it, duh!" Well, here's our chance to do just that, unless you force all GE trade into one location and you will take away from the rest of the game all the players that would rather not go there and force them to go there anyway.

Why both? Because both reasons are valid, both groups of players are valid, and they are not mutually exclusive. Voting against the other because you prefer the one is just asinine, not common sense.

Jewelry decanting NPC

One feature of the Grand Exchange in RS3 is an NPC that decants jewelry. This NPC can, for example, turn a Ring of Dueling (3) and a Ring of Dueling (2) into a single Ring of Dueling (5). We will be offering this NPC as an addition to the Grand Exchange.

Potion decanting NPC

The Grand Exchange in RS3 also included an NPC that was able to decant your potions for free. We will also be offering a similar NPC in Old School.

Please do not add this, as it should be polled if players want to have this added. I suposse potion decanting isn't thad bad as it already is possible, but jewelry decanting is just nonsense.

Hi

I didn't vote for GE, but a few ideas, Maybe the GE could be located in Ardy, seeing it is meant to be the trading town and all, which would mean new accounts can't just go to the GE easily without having to do a couple of quests, and when you guys eventually bring out F2P, it would add as a nice Members Benefit to bring more people to want to become a member. Just a thought :P

This is a very original and well thought out idea.

I think it would make bringing the GE to OSRS much more interesting, if not better. I was against the GE coming to OSRS but ended up voting yes after a good amount of thought. Ultimately the deciding factor was that I would be unable to even use the trading post after it was updated due to not putting my private chat to "on". Not that it matters anymore but why not share my thoughts? I think making it a members benefit by placing it in a members only area is great. ALSO, this way people who may not have wanted a GE can still enjoy a GE free OSRS even if it is only F2P. When I first started I stayed a F2P player for a while and starting off in F2P with no GE would still keep that nostalgia alive. ;)

Quick answer to this is that the whole purpose for resurrecting Oldschool Runescape was because of nostalgia and people are sentimental about it. Some were against and some for the G.E. For a lot of us who played back in 2007 (and earlier) this is about going back to what we had. The G.E. is voted in.. and I for one am happy about it. That does not mean there can't be some fixes to the problems that plagued it. As I said earlier, I hope it can be as close as possible to the same GE it was before.
