If you can give players some sort of counter to barrage spam, I wouldn't mind free runes.
Group Vengeance from livid farm was a pretty hard barrage counter, have it as a castlewars reward that lets you only use it in the minigame. I think a lot more rewards that make the minigame a bit different from standard PvP/PvM is the way to go. For example, nightmare zone has overloads which isn't available in standard PvM.
Of course, none of these are actually worth anything if there isn't some sort of extra reward added to every minigame that makes it more desirable, preferably something consumable so people come back.
Fight pits needs a rework, it should reward a special type of TokKul to be used in a reward shop, but only be available on two worlds to prevent abuse. On top of that it needs mechanics reworked. It's a good base for a game but having to spend a ton of money on good food/potions/runes really turns off people from playing, that goes for any minigame.
Catalytic/Elemental runes made available somehow that only work in minigames would take some of the rune inventory stress off Magic.
Toss in tome of frost/flame/gust/ground into that super reward shop and I'd be ecstatic. Probably one of the more balanced rewards that trashycombatscape ever released.
Oh ya and RECOLOR ROBIN/RANGER BOOTS PLEASE!
On client upgrades you should also poll the following:
Special Attack orb
XP Drops
Vengeance Timer
Just so that if they fail we can tell orion to get rid of them too. Sick of them circumventing the polling system by releasing whatever the hell they want without the community's approval.
