im okay with this for now since ive been disconnected myself and it makes pvm/slayer veeerrry scary, but the thing is, you're fixing a problem with the players' actions by changing integral game mechanics. this is exactly what we saw in live rs in 2007, where players were botting and scamming and the solution was to remove all free trade entirely and PKing. i dont like that this fix was done without at least a 1-day poll or some correspondence with the community since it's setting a standard for the future that was exactly what killed runescape so many years ago.
to quote: "As this change is being made for the integrity of the game, we won't be polling it."
this attitude seems wrong to me and while i understand why you did it i dont like the implication that the developers know better than the game's community what changes are made "for the integrity of the game."
in any case, to weigh in on gravestones i dont like the idea and i never will. death is supposed to be a major thing, and to be honest runescape is already much easier on the players in this regard compared to other rpgs where you could even lose levels on death on top of all your gear and money (like everquest). when you take gear into a dangerous area you have to understand the risk of losing it, that's why we have protect item prayer and the ability to view items lost on death. gravestones undermine the feeling of growing stronger in the game and becoming more confident in dangerous areas by taking away a large part of the risk, other players coming to take your stuff. for right now, under the circumstances, it's okay, but i do not think this is a good idea in the long run.
