TH causing crashes on Steam

Currently when I try to open treasure hunter using the steam client, my whole computer freezes up and the game crashes. I verified my files/cleared my cache and it still seems to happen.

However, I downloaded the client on the website and it works flawlessly. Seems it's only a steam issue. Not sure if this is happening to just me or anyone else. "There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed."

Same is happening to me actually. I also get a strange green flickering in the skybox at random times, as well as much lower fps than usual even in areas by myself. The icon of the chest in the pop-up flickers as well as the pictures of characters faces when talking to them. I tried re-installing my game completely as well as clearing the cache but to no avail

I'm on a PC not using steam, and I am crashing everytime I try using treasure hunter.

Your issue is not what OP asked for then as he specifically asked if it was a Steam issue:

Might be a rendering issue, as my treasure hunter was also flickering. Launching via the downloadable client fixed it, but still can't seem open TH through the steam client.
