Fury Shark Outfit extra catch

Hello,
I finally got the whole set and equipped the fury shark outfit and started fishing. I started to see the outfit make an extra catch and was happy. Then after reading about the perk, it says you also get the exp for said extra catch. So I started to watch and found that was not happening, if i do not get the exp with the catch is there a way to turn the extra catch off??

I did just notice if have shark head on consume when catch it does give extra exp

It turns out that it is reasonable to use consume all option in members world while fishing sharks .. bank the shark outfit set while in free to play world.. and can start noticing better the catching chance increments after combining the three outfit to make the fury shark outfit.. no bonus point for consuming the catch.. just more inventory space.
