Hi,

I have no clue what forum to put this in.
FMOD please move it if needed.

About 6-10 months ago I bought a 200 Key package and got it fine.

As I was using them through the days I also started getting the Key Tickets that you get while skilling.

When I tried to use them I got a message saying I could NOT claim the Key until I had used up to other keys I/you bought??!!

I couldn't bank it nor could I use it, destroyed!

I then started getting more key tickets so kept them until I had 5 or 6 tickets in my inventory and finally just got rid of them too since I was
doing slayer at the time and needed pack space.

My question from my above description is this:
I want to buy more keys some time but do not want to have to destroy the
key tickets I get while skilling, Is that a BUG?

I had 100+ keys and did not want to use them at that time to be able to
claim the key tickets .

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Can this be sent somehow to customer support?

I have missed a few promotions due to not wanting to buy tickets then
have to use them before I can claim a key ticket.

Clear a mud right?

Any suggestions or help will be much appreciated.

I'm not sure if the limits are different for members, but for F2P, a key ticket can't be claimed until you have less than 10 earned keys, so the moment you hit 9 earned keys, you can claim a ticket.

I don't know if the same could be said for bought keys. You might even have to use all your bought keys first before getting to the earned ones, unless you can choose which keys to use. I'd check to see if earned keys can be used instead of bought and see if that fixes things, but that's just what I would do.

Sorry if that doesn't quite answer things, as I don't buy keys and can't weigh in on bought ones. Hope this helps in some way.

That helps out a bit for sure.

The only thing is I don't think you can choose which keys to use?
I.E. free keys, earned keys, bought keys, or key tickets.

I was hoping I could send a message to customer support but cannot find out how now. You used to be able to send a message direct to support instead of Forums or the listings they have now. I looked at those and couldn't find any that matched my problem close at all..

Still need help please!!???

I think there's a limit to how many keys you can store. And you'll need to use up your existing keys first.

I think due to promotions and stuff, you're expected to use your keys when you buy them, rather than buying them on a deal and then saving till there's a certain promotion.

Keys are always used in the following order:
- Daily keys (must be used the day they are obtained, if not used they disappear & are replaced with the next day's keys)
- Earned (through gameplay) keys (these have a max of 10 that can be stored)
- Bought keys

Mod Tren, that helps a lot, but the game needs to do a better job of communicating that. I've experienced the same problem as Dotorperiod here and felt I had to destroy the keys and now I'm hitting myself for doing so. I also thought the daily keys were bugged... no idea you had to use them the same day. Click here for ideas on exploring other worlds, specifically the human homeworld Teragard. This one's me baby

Thanks FM Tren for the order of key usage and it does help a lot.

Most I already knew.

My main problem is having to destroy the ones(you get thru game play???) as it tells me when I try to use it I have to use my other keys b4 I can use the one I got thru play.

I still want to buy some keys occasionally but just hate to destroy the ones u get thru play!!!???

If you could maybe bank them up to 10?? Than would help.

Is anyone else out there having the same trouble?

This is working as intended.

It's so you can't save keys.

If you're saving keys you're not buying them.

You have 2 options - either only buy them when you want to use them, or destroy the random key tokens & don't give it another thought.

I don't buy keys, but I do save all my keys for a promo I think looks good.

I destroy all the random key tokens & have for years, it's enabled me to get all the skilling outfits from th (before they were available in game).

The junk I'd get from the keys I'd find while skilling I don't care about, I'm happy to be able to use my keys on a promo I like.

So this is the answer that no j-mod will post.
It is intentional & they have no intention of changing it.
It's up to you to make a choice.

You can also protest this situation by never buying keys again - I'm not encouraging you to do that, I'm just saying that is also a choice you can make.

I kinda thought that may be the case as I've been thinking about it.

I usually ONLY buy keys for promotions that appeal to me and usually only get 250 key package.

I know you have to use thr 3/daily keys yu get every day or lose them.

It was my understanding that you can only save 10 keys at a time??!!

The rest, other than the daily keys, I thought you lost over the 10 key limit.

It's just that even when there is a promo on that I may get key packages for I usually don't use them ALL during the promo. Mainly looking to save so some for the next one!?

You said you save keys for a promo you may like, how many can you save?

Do you mean like keys you get from quest's OR what else gives you keys?

I've never liked or figured out how to do the EARNED keys from doing surveys or however else you earn them IE you have to provide a CC number or the like.

It's so confusing to me that I may just stick to my daily keys and just buy a package when something comes along I want make sure I get thru TH.

I thank you again for the information Cuddley.

I will continue to bump this for a few more times to maybe get some other input and TIA ALL for suggestions and input to my quandary!
