Draco towing the "you can't have it because you weren't there" line again...

I despise this attitude. As has been pointed out, it really makes no difference to the vast majority if someone has access to a cosmetic item that you collected at a point in time and they didn't get the chance to. If effort is going to be put into making good looking items like this, then I want to share in its glory as well. It could be a rare token item for all I care.

I'm all for putting a time gate around it, as suggested by another, so that people who get it when it's fresh can have "bragging rights". But to lock it away for ever - especially when you didn't have to do anything for it - is too much.

Note: you don't see me asking for Santa Hats or phats to be re-offered. Why? Because they are still available, and if I put effort in I can still achieve it. To take something away completely though puts me off the game. If you'd rather see me leave the game because I can't obtain items I want - and you can't judge me for what is or isn't important to me in this game - so you can have an exclusive cosmetic that you don't even use, that's sad. The more people that get put off the game, the worse it is for everyone.

It's a rant, I know. But this really irks me.

So basically you'll ask for anything you cant get?

Wow...

I believe there might be a reason you cant get them. Its due to the fact its suppose to be a status symbol showing you partook in said event.

It's a rant, I know. But this really irks me. Agreed except the part you claimed partyhats are still available. It's really to over 1% of players not when they're all at least 3x the max cash amount.

Holiday items are made to celebrate a holiday and for fun and were never intended to be rare symbolic status symbols - nobody cares when you've played or not. It's the opposite in fact, when Jagex found out how partyhats etc were used for high status they've made every holiday reward untradeable so people don't make bank off these items or use it in the form of power.

Also, I get that people like you and Blackwing have this idea where you believe every holiday and discontinued item should remain as such, but please realise that not everyone agrees with that ideology so when someone suggests or wants something to return, don't go around attacking them for having a different view. At the end of the day, if a majority of players want something to return E.g an item like the boogie bow, which lets be honest you never even see anyone wear it, then why not, and rerelease it to make those players happy. Now don't get me wrong i never said the majority of players want the boogie bow to return, just using it as an example.

So going by that it does seem like they are meant to be used to show you were at the event. That's just some outdated stance back in 2009. When a player asked if the snow globe could return, he said no as it would lose it's sparkle. Yet it returned in 2016. Besides the boogie bow isn't a reward from the traditional easter/hween/xmas events and most non non holiday event rewards have returned - look at the cryptic cluefest or the beach party or valentines.

Edit: Furthermore, this reward is a reward from an event of celebrating 200m accounts, so i can't see why everyone can't enjoy this item?

Maybe due to the fact if you didnt attend the party, you shouldnt be rewarded.

Thats like going to gamestop or w/e after they stop handing out card codes for a mystery gift pokemon and still asking for one.

Also we're way past 200m acc, so it would be kind of weird to get something that happened in the past.

Yep and they havent had a clueffest since the last time they handed everything out. So we can rule that out as a event.

As for valentines, thats mostly a th based event so.

Finally we have the beach, and as much as i dont like they rereleasing those rewards, at least its only for that event. So far.

Also if the event seems weird or outdated you can always implement it into another party themed holiday event.

Regardless, my point is there is history of holiday event items returning and the boogie bow isn't a holiday item that you see people wear or use often or at all so imo why not rerelease it?
