Flawed TH multiplier mechanics

So we have a promotion now that lets you get X2-X10 rewards.
I got Botanist boots, and it was supposed to be X3.
When i collected it, I only got 1.
I would expect to get 3 items from the Botanist set, because otherwise how is this X3 value?

I should have just convert them to get the oddments and wait for the time when i get this kind of items without a multiplier ? Doesn't sound right..

there's 0 use in having 3 botanist boots.

it actually sounds absolutely right, because you did convert the extra boots into oddments and you obtained the one pair of boots that you wanted. Don't trust any pc's listed, any advice or talks between posts on ID forums anymore , the Manips are let loose, especially the main one with 15+ accounts posting acting as different people.. do your own research

So you are saying that what actually happened is that I got 1 boots, and the other two were converted, but I just didn't notice?

If that is the case then I agree that it makes a lot of sense, but is this just your assumption or is this actually how it works?

That is exactly how it works. For unique prices like skilling outfit sets, while it may say you won multiple of one item (like your 3x Botanist boots), it actually only gives you one while the rest is automatically converted to oddments.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
