Jump into Treasure Hunter tomorrow to receive a FREE freshly polished skilling backpack, now with new functions and ready to soup up your Double XP Weekend gains!

From 00:00 game time on the 23rd August through to 23:59 on the 28th August , open up Treasure Hunter to receive the new skilling backpack for free. Note that this will replace your current skilling backpack if you already have one. Wear your backpack while training, and you have chances at finding random drops of skilling supplies, ready to combine with the double xp weekend (coming on 31st August)! Find items like prismatic stars and lamps, notepaper and pulse cores, as well new additions of Protean items and skilling dummies, and more!

Each item drop will also activate a 5% xp boost for 10 minutes , which stacks with the double xp weekend, and will use up a charge from your backpack. Win more power packs for charges through Treasure Hunter until Monday 23rd.

If you know what prizes you want to get from your new backpack you can attune the pack so you get more of what you’re looking for, excluding the drops you’re not interested in. Right-click the backpack to start!

This time, we’ve also guaranteed prizes of backpack charges on Treasure Hunter. At 2, 5, 15 and 30 keys used you will win an additional bundle of backpack charges on top of your normal key prize. That’s in addition to any you win normally!

The skilling backpack is your tool for getting ready for Double XP weekend, so get going with it quick!

Oh look, more exp selling that ruins the game integrity. And it doesn't even get rid of the patch weeks, in fact it only leads to more of them.

Seriously Jagex, this is counterproductive; just remove TH altogether and focus on membership sales and game integrity instead. You'll be much more successful in the long term. > )

This, all over. To add to this, my constructive criticism is that Jagex previously promised to cut down on both the amount of promotions and amount of gameplay impact they have, and yet there has not been a break in promotions since Runepass (which was itself a promotion) and almost all of those promotions involved the direct selling of bonus XP or flat out XP in the form of stars and lamps, and this skilling backpack is no exception.

My further constructive criticism is that this has a negative effect on game progression and economy. Look at how much items rise and crash around double XP weekends and how many more people gain formerly prestigious achievements such as 120 Summoning and Herblore on DXPW; XP promotions such as this backpack are a microcosm for this, except locked behind a paywall, giving a direct game advantage to those paying real life money.

Big if true, bratan, but I think they've already done it by breaking RNG on my account. > )

Anyhow, nice to see that we are able to officially speak on the promos again.

so what if someone has a 120 cape? its purely cosmetic except for 3 capes that have an extra perk over their 99 counterpart, and those extra perks do not affect you in any way if they have it and you don't and hiscores stopped mattering after the old nite and zezima anyway

Gotta +1 this as well; they didn't even turn TH off completely whilst Runepass was active. It was never going to succeed, because it came across as another MTX layer on top of existing MTX.
