Sounds great. Maybe also add a few colours extra so you can find a good match with your outfit? Could also have its own simple walk/idle animation when worn where you're character is chilling with the music by having one hand on their hip and slightly tilting your head left to right.

To those saying the item doesn't fit in a medieval game, the game is actually mainly fantasy not necessarily medieval. You can especially say this since we have invention. Feel free to take a look at my suggestions: 200m xp prestige

Even as a cosmetic, I'm not down with this. Even considering Invention, this seems a little too much - There's a difference between magisteampunk equipment and stuff that is a direct match with the technology we have today. It would create, in my opinion, a total lack of artistic cohesion.

Just stick to the earmuffs.

Sounds cool but I do not feel they would fit with the time frame. If Jagex put a funny spin on them to match the time of the game. I support. Like ear muffs with rope dangling down from them to make them look like cables ;)
