What about the foreign language site events that are held on the corresponding worlds? We for example only host events on german servers, as the site itself is completly in german.

I doubt any J-Mods other than our translators would understand much :P

Well I understand German a little but not enough to host / take part in an event ;)

What do you think the possibilities are of your German community taking part in an event on an English speaking world?

Taking part would not be a problem. But if we organize an event made for our community it will mainly be held in german, and so is the main language we will use.
I highly doubt we will make any events on english worlds that are for our community, unless it is neccessary.
Many of our events have the aim to support people who want to avoid switching to english worlds, some because their english is not good, others, like me, because they enjoy it way more together with their community than with a lot of strangers.

Also, even if we have a larger group on english servers instead - I guess most of them will still talk to each other in german :P

A while back was there not a poll to gather feedback on what players would like to see at an employee hosted event; or-rather why they did not really attend (too?) O_o ? I vaguely remember some of the options, but do remember something about spawning JMod only equipment/attire for the attendees? If there has been any development in this yet, perhaps that would be a good place to promote these new features -- In the JMod and fansite community events; grabbing in some of the biggest crowds you guys have ever seen. I mean, I have been to quite a few events low-key, yet always seem to mostly see the same regulars. More players in attendance would surely give your department some uplifting motivation to continue further when you have more appreciate and recognize your work, no? After all, so many nowadays seemingly play only for self-gratification on only their behalf. So to give the players rewards.. woah!

Hey there Bowserkor,

I totally understand your community prefers to stay on German servers. I'm sorry but as much as I'd love to, I am not able to host events for languages other than English unless its to promote cross language interaction, and in this case it would't be. Plus even though I do understand a bit of German, I would be totally lost in the middle of an event full of native German speakers.

Hey 26,

Yes, this is definitely something that has been raised, and I'd love for something like this to be added to the game. But as for everything, this costs development time, and we need to make decisions on how our dev time is best spent.

The community tools that are at our disposition are being revised and we shall soon have some more tools to host more 'unique' events and hopefully, these will attract a wider audience.

Hey Mod Jon and other fansites :) ,

I am Head of Community on RuneHints. I must say, it's great to see J Mods trying to interact with fansites more and this co-op event idea sounds awesome and has a lot of potential.

I've spoken to the other staff and as a fansite we are happy to promote and support these events and get involved in any way possible either by hosting our own events that J Mods attend or by teaming up as a big group of fansites to host some cross-fansite events that all of our communities can enjoy together.

I've been involved with fansites for a few years now and I've always wanted to get a big group together to play Trouble Brewing but never managed it. It would be great if we could have a sort of tournament where teams compete to see who can produce the most rum! Offering some prizes to the winners would be the froth on the top! :P

Hey there Schnee,

The idea is for me to help you run an event and label it as a Jmod event to spike the interest of players :)

What sort of events do you usually host? Do you have any upcoming events that you think we could run together or that I could help with?

Glad to see you are interested :)

Hey Jon,

We, RuneHints, don't currently have regular set events, we are looking to start some off and running something like trouble brewing with JMod support would be a good way for us to get going.

What's the best way for you to get involved? I mean if we set up the event and a time for it, what kinds of details do you need from us, how much notice etc.

Thanks :)

Hey there,

As much notice as possible is always good - but I'd say at least 2 weeks is always good for us :) That was we can discuss the event, and try to work out some promotion for it.

As for details:
- Time
- Date
- World
- Hosts
- Event details

These details are always good to know.

Also, hosting this during our work hours is always preferable. Please note Mod Lee works during US times, so can also be there when the Cambridge team has gone home :)

If you need an example, the Jmod events thread (link in my siggy) shows the details we usually give out and need ourselves :)

Ta :)
