I’ve got requests about a new World Cup tournament in the Clan Wars mini game. This have been arranged before, years ago when Jagex had a JMod representing each country/community. The rules back then was simple, best of three, everything was allowed and the team mate limit was set to friend chat limit. I would love to help out arranging this but I’ll need help with it. The best scenario would be to have at least one player representing each county/community.

I’ll provide you with a draft of how I would like the tournament.
* Each Country/Community got their own captain, this captain is preferable from that region and know the language.
* Participating countries/communities that I remember form the time was: Norway, Finland, Sweden, Benelux, France, Spain, USA, Canada, Brazil, Denmark, UK, and Germany.  I am sure that were more and which communities participating for this tournament can be adjusted.
* Last time was free to play. The best with free to play is that everyone are on the same level with gear and the strongest pvp community will end up as winners. But if the war is fought on member servers more tactical game play is possible to use since there are a lot of more abilities, but ofc that would involve wealth.
* Any prize? Maybe we can add something like a World Cup board equal to the existing Clan Cup reward in the game world? Small prizes may also be given to some of the last standing players on each game.
* The tournament got a group stage and a knock out stage with or without a loser bracket. All match dates are determined before the start of the tournament. But the times are set to suit both communities as good as possible.

So… What do you guys think? Possible to arrange? Something for the full fansite community? Would you like to help arranging it? Have I missed anything that is important?

B-but, no one invited us last time! Such a pitty. Anyways, this sounds cool czecho-slovak community would definitely love to join (and kick some umm ...behinds...)

As stated above, only possible to arrange if we do it together. The best is to have a captain on each team but less would also be possible, one in charge of each team at the moment the battles are held is a good thing I believe :)

Great idea. I am ready to help.

I like the FC join-only requirement.
I dont know how many countries would participate. But if ther less than 12 teams I dont think group stage is needed.

F2P or P2P, its always hard to answer. Most RS dedicated players are members and since you can get membership with ingame wealth - bonds, almost everyone from my friendlist plays on P2P so I assume the RS community does as well.
Wealth is one of the attributes of power.
I would go for P2P cup.

As a reward I would suggest ingame banner. Something between a Clan vexillum and Achievement banner from Solomon's General Store. Everyone can get it (Diango?) and it will represent the country/community of curret Wold Cup winner with flag colors and tell messages (e.g. The best Runescape warriors are from France. France is the winner of the latest World Cup).
It will be really hard to determine who was in the winning team or last standing warriors and give them some rewards.

I'd go with asking a range of clan leaders as well to be honest; I bet many are interested in joining!
