"Hello guys!
Before you ask, yes it’s a legit email! I hope to be working with a bunch of you over the coming months and so wanted to drop you a mail to say hello and introduce myself. Looking at the list of addresses I know I’ve met
loads of you before and by the sounds of it, I’ll be meeting many of you at the end of the month when you come to visit. But for those of you I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, here’s a quick bit about me so you know where I’m coming from.
If you don’t care and want to skip to the important bit, skip the next paragraph!
I’ve been with Jagex for a long time now starting out first in Community Management. I loved it, grew the team, got our YouTube channel up and running, made some (admittedly fairly terrible) videos and got to meet some fantastic people. I got into events and competitions and through those, got into machinima, started the GGVAs and got a real love for all things video. I worked on a lot of fun projects and those projects eventually led me to start the Video Production team working on all of our video output like BTS vids, trailers, hanging out with dwarves, pirates… and Alan. Meanwhile I was able to work on fun side projects like RuneFest and got to produce the event’s live stream and very recently the Gameblast 24hr stream both of which were really fun to work on. So when I was recently asked to take the lead on our Live Streaming program and the promotion and production of community videos, I leapt at the chance as it’s a great chance for me to work with some old friends, make some new ones, produce fun videos again and with your help, really get stuck into making the most of Live Streaming.
Lee’s been your point of contact for live streaming but as you may well be aware he was recently whisked off by the Jagex gods to work elsewhere which makes me your new point of contact for all things Live and community video orientated. I’ve got loads more to talk to you about with both video and streaming but but looking at how much I’ve written already, I’ll save that for another day.
So, I’ll leave you by saying that you now have my email address if you need to get hold of me for anything Streaming or Video related. If you’ve a cool idea for a stream or video then however outlandish I really want to hear it (I’m currently looking into getting Alan fired out of a cannon to give you an idea of what’s acceptable). If you want to stream on the official RuneScape channel, I really want to hear from you as I want to put more emphasis on your streams. If you’ve an idea that’ll help me support the community better, again, I want to hear it. The only thing I ask is that you keep my address and any emails I send you to yourself and that you don’t ask me for account advice, to help your hacked friend or anything that’s totally out of my remit, other than that, let’s talk.
