What do you think would be the Elder Gods possible reaction to the Homunculus?
Given the amount of lore in game, it can be easy even for the devs to forget things.
The Tower of Life Quest, the player helps several alchemists create a Homunculus. In theory, a life form created from ... well ... much the same manner as what the Elder gods can do.
We know the creatures created in the Tower of Life basement are basically the same thing as what Zaros was trying to do: fuse life forms together to try to make something new ... but failing to lieterally create life the same way the Elder Gods can.
However, the Homunculus is something ... different ...
Would the Elder Gods reject it and call it an abomination? Probably.
But without an explanation as to what the alchemists really did, through achievements in ignorance, mortals might have actually done what only the Elder Gods have claimed to do.
That or we need a Tower of Life 2: Achievements in Ignorance quest where the alchemists were the descendants of some of Zaros' secret researchers and somehow created a Rube Golderg device that only created a simulacrum with anima in it that thinks it is alive (sort of like The Memory in Player Owned Ports trapped in a shell like Seren and Zaros)
Though it might be interesting to see the Elder Gods' dumbfounded reactions that mortals managed to somehow .... create ......... this!?!?!?
