The desert quest line will be ending soon with access to Menaphos being granted.
Currently, we have two gods remaining from the pantheon who are still caught up in Amascut's plan - Crondis and Het.


We know there's a quest set to be released that centres on Crondis, dealing the influence Amascut holds on her.

That leaves the question - how will Het fit into the series? I'm hoping we don't simply cover three quarters of minor god followings here, then shelve the last one for no apparent reason.


So I've been wondering how they'll incorporate Het before the series comes to a close. Maybe it'll be crammed in some place, alongside the final confrontation between the adventurer, their allies, and Amascut.

But what if Het is right there in front of us?


A neat way of incorporating the last of Amascut's pantheon victims would be controlling Het in the guise as Pharaoh of Menaphos.

Given the recent promotional art and video trailer for Menaphos, it kind of fits.
Het is known as the desert's god of health, both physical and mental. The design of the Pharaoh, and his dialogue in the trailer would (from my impression) oppose both qualities. The result of Amascut corrupting Het, and placing him in a position of power to manipulate the desert region as part of her own agenda.

It's already been mentioned Amascut is manipulating the Pharoah. What if it's Het under control?


As always, it's just speculation and probably won't be what ends up happening.

Also, please let me know if I've got details wrong here / suggest anything that might counter this theory.

Het is the desert god of health, both physical and mental, and is one of the four minor gods of the Menaphite Pantheon. A manifestation of Het can appear by picking up a canopic jar from Icthlarin's Little Helper. Het is probably the most worshipped of the minor Kharidian Desert gods, with great followings in each of the desert settlements. Al Kharid is particularity notable for this, with a majority of its citizens worshipping Het. However, he has lately come under the suspicion that he caused the Sophanem plague, due to Amascut twisting his power, in a manner similar to what she did to Apmeken. Notable followers of his include Ozan.

It'll be even better if the series isn't ending this year. More space to flesh out the story.

The series is definitely not ending with access to Menaphos, in the stream they did mention "quests further down the line". Pretty save to assume there will be more desert quests after we gain access to Menaphos.

Het is not the pharaoh. Amascut is the one in control of Menaphos and actively despises the four aspects of her father, Although why she's treated Crondis so much nicer than the rest of them is something I'd like answered. The Pharaoh has a human origin and human motives to go along with the human focused political plot.

Menaphos will also not be the end point this year, I asked Mod Rowley and he "Confirms" that it's likely the quest after Menaphos will be the finale, this will just be one big expansion sized build up.

Het is his own character within the story who I'm certain will show up because he has been shown in the promotional poster, but if he's anyone in disguise, it should be the Jack of Spades.

They specifically said in the stream that only one quest is required to get full access to Menaphos (not including the Ozan double bill), with at least 2 or so other quests after that. Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

Nice try but I highly doubt Het is the Pharoah. Het can actually be seen in the header of the new menaphos site right here:

http://www.runescape.com/info/menaphos

He is the buff light blue figure on the right next to the chubby Pharoah and Jabari. We can be sure this is Het because he shares the same tucked chin and headdress as the statue in Stolen Hearts and the one in Senliten's tomb.
