I hope that Menaphos isn't even close to the end of the "Desert," maybe it's getting close to the Kharid-ib phase of the desert. I felt like the Myreque phase needed to end, but not the Morytania line.

It is likely that storywise much of what happens in Menaphos is previous to Do No Evil. The Ozan Double Bill is the only requirement for the first quest to be released, with Icthlarin's Little Helper only being strongly suggested. Heck, the second to last cut scene in Diamond in the Rough takes place in Amascut's/The Wanderer's tent just outside Sophanem. So you're in luck.

As for why Amascut allows Crondis a life of complacent luxury? Well, maybe because Crondis is a fellow apex predator, a killer, a destroyer of lives, and not a peace loving monkey or conflict-averse beetle. Maybe Crondis is better at killing when she is fat and happy rather than lean and only hunting/eating when she feels the need. Think of how many servants and cows and chickens and exotic creatures must be slain to keep Crondis that well fed. ;)

Crondis's entire schtick is resourcefulness and modesty.

Just as Amascut messed with Scabaras by driving his followers into open conflict (rather than their god's advocated isolation) and Apmekan by removing her ability to interact with the desert people (when her job is to spread sociability and friendliness). Amascut may have even twisted Het's powers to cause the plagues in Sophanem (what with him being the god of health after all).

In other words, Crondis is living in the lap of luxury because Amascut has consistently been flipping the normal functions of the minor desert gods (much like she herself flipped from what her job was).

All very true, though Amascut herself may say she is not flipping the normal functions of these gods, she is enhancing them (while ignoring certain irrelevant parts )

- Amascut is still the rightful Judge of the Dead and Devourer of Evil Souls, it's just that her eyes have been opened to how evil everyone is and why no one deserves rebirth.
- Apmeken is still the Goddess of Social and Mental Pleasures, it's just that the world has grown so evil that sociability has turned into a vector for mass panics and hateful propaganda.
- Het is still the God of Health and Strength, and he ensures the strength of warriors and their weapons and the shackles of slaves, but he also increases the strength of the plagues which punish the wicked.
- Crondis is still the Goddess of Physical Pleasures and Resourcefulness. Modesty is the enemy of resourcefulness however, so she teaches that we must ignore modesty and that we must do everything to accumulate vast wealth. Hail Capitalism! Hail Crocky Ayn Rand!
- Scabaras is still the God of (Scholarly) Isolation and Wisdom, it is just that wisdom was revealed the world become full of evil loudmouths who must be silenced before a the world is once again quiet and peaceful enough to meditate to gain further wisdom.

This is all perfectly sane reasoning which I fully expect non-Amascutians will find full of contradictions because non-Amascutians are insane. O_o

I hate to mention the plots from other games, but does anybody remember a little game called Skyrim? The only reason I mention this is because stories can happen semi-independent of each other. If you defeated Ulfric (if you were an imperial) prior to reaching Sovengard, then his soul would be there. If you chose to conduct the peace summit, the Imperial/Stormcloak line would still be available after killing Alduin.

I keep hearing everybody saying, this is going to happen before/after DNE, or the Scarabas quest, but what if it's built that it can happen semi-independent of where you are in the other quests? If you've already helped Apemeken, then it will reflect in some details of the quest, if you did so, and then you heard Amascut yell about how she still was corrupted, then that wouldn't make sense...

Your second point is atrocious. Suggested requirements are the WORST thing for quests to adopt.

It'd be like The World Wakes all over again, it wastes dialogue having additional words written in to compensate for those at different points in other quests they simply shouldn't be allowed to drop and move on from and progress further into the deeper story, Just lock everything behind what makes sense.

It's not rocket science. It's common sense. If you want to read the Deathly Hallows, you start at the Philosophers Stone.

Here's some more information, courtesy of the RuneScape Wikia:

Het is the desert god of health, both physical and mental, and is one of the four minor gods of the Menaphite Pantheon. A manifestation of Het can appear by picking up a canopic jar from Icthlarin's Little Helper. Het is probably the most worshipped of the minor Kharidian Desert gods, with great followings in each of the desert settlements. Al Kharid is particularity notable for this, with a majority of its citizens worshipping Het. However, he has lately come under the suspicion that he caused the Sophanem plague, due to Amascut twisting his power, in a manner similar to what she did to Apmeken. Notable followers of his include Ozan.

I've no idea where the Wikia got large parts of these. We do know Het is fervently worshipped in Al Kharid, but I don't recall that being said to be the case elsewhere in the desert. There is also dialogue in Sophanem saying it's debated whether the plagues are an affront to Het, or a punishment *from* Het - nothing about him being twisted.

Protip, the Wikia makes up a lot of lore.

Het shows up in one of the flashes during the Menaphos trailer. In it, he appears to be under Amascut's influence, just like the other minor desert gods and the people around the pharaoh. Acknowledging that, and Amascut's tendency to twist the minor gods' powers to an end opposite their usual goals (as assigned by Tumeken), I wouldn't be surprised if the plagues originate from an Amascut influenced Het.

Lucky for us, I've recently reread the transcript for Contact!

Player: Hello, Jex.
Jex: Hello, Player.
Player: Could you tell me more about the minor gods?
Player: Could you tell me more about Het?
Jex: Het is the least strange looking of our deities to foreign eyes; he looks just like us. I suspect this is why his shrines are particularly targeted by the infamous Templeton.
Player: What does his patronage cover?
Jex: He is the very incarnation of health and strength in both mind and body.
Player: Could you tell me more about Het's followers?
Jex: Het originated in the north, so he is worshipped fervently by the people of Al Kharid; however, he is a popular god across the desert - his powerful image of strength and health make him a popular god amongst soldiers and leaders.
The legendary creators have been long gone from this world. When they return, they'll be surprised and angered of their creations' new sapience. Meanwhile, the world's most elite, summoned to be its guardians, have abandoned their purpose and intend to plunge the world into chaos. -- Bionicle or RS?

Jex says in the exact same line "a popular god amongst soldiers and leaders". He may just mean "he is a popular god amongst soldiers and leaders across the desert".

And regardless, there is a leap from "a popular god" to "probably the most worshipped of the minor Kharidian Desert gods, with great followings in each of the desert settlements".
The Asgarnian ale must flow.

So I've heard. But that's certainly not been suspected by anyone in-universe, and I'm sure the Wikia said this well before the trailer.
