Spoiler's for Sliske's Endgame...obviously

So, Dr. Jekyll, it looks like we've got company.

The hints from the end of the quest quite obviously point to the fact that we've inadvertently absorbed Sliske's soul when we defeated him in Endgame.

So, where does Sliske move from here?

Hopefully it isn't long before we realize in-game what's happened, and the player starts dealing with the fact that the joker's hitched a ride.

Does Sliske want out? Or is he content watching me harvest bamboo for hours on end? Hopefully when he does make his presence known we see more of that snarky dialogue we're used to.

Current Theories:

1. Sliske wants to get a Max cape too
2. Sliske's waiting to sabotage us and the gods in the most cruel way possible
3. Sliske's going to try and "escape" from the prison of our mind at some point

How will it end?

1. Epic Dream Mentor Style fight to destroy Sliske in our mind
2. We expel Sliske from our mind (perhaps using the blade to excise him)
3. Sliske tricks us into releasing him into a new body...

Either way, just be thankful we don't have to see his smug face for a while.

Me and My Shadow

Like the wallpaper sticks to the wall
Like the seashore clings to the sea

Like you'll never get rid of your shadow
Sliske- you'll never get rid of me

Let all the others fight and fuss
Whatever happens, we've got us.

Me and my shadow

We're closer than pages that stick in a book
We're closer than ripples that play in a brook
Strolling down the avenue

Wherever you find him, you'll find me, just look
Closer than a Airut or the bloodticks to Tuska
Me and my shadow
We're closer than smog when it clings to Fumus
We're closer than a Legio is to Ocellus
Not one team can bust these souls in two
We're stuck together like glue

And when it's sleeping time

That's when we rise
We start to swing

Swing to the skies
Our clocks don't chime

What a surprise
They ring-a-ding-ding!
Happy New Year!

Me and my shadow

And now to repeat what I said at the start
They'll need an elder artefact to break us apart

We're alone but far from blue

Before we get finished, we'll make the town roar
We'll make all the late spots, and then a few more
We'll wind up at Edgeville after Falador
Life is gonna be we-wow-whee!
(here comes the party!)

For my shadow and me!
"We call it being a hero"
"That's interesting, we call it utter stupidity"

I kinda feel like Sliske has worn out his welcome. Are we going to have ANOTHER fight with him, or with Nomad? Why? He's already revealed he hates us and hates everything. There's nothing really left to do with him.
We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.

Oh god, Sliske is going to go nuts. He was pulling this shit because he was bored, and even the new god wars bored him. He's going to flip his shit once he realizes he's hitched a ride with someone who spends whole weeks repeating the same shit over and over to grind skills and money.
Even the bossers will bore him to death once he's watched them kill QBD for the thousandth time.

That being said though, he'll probably have a newfound respect for the WG. No wonder his games didn't break us, nothing could stand up to the torture we expose ourselves to for them exp gainz.

While Sliske attempts to seize control of our mind, we take control of Icthlarin, Death, and Seren to work on a puzzle. The puzzle (and the questline) will be solved when Icthlarin maneuvers behind Sliske and crushes him with a pillar. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

I kind of agree with you.

Sliske's mind inside of the player's would be a welcome addition, don't get me wrong, so long as he can't actually control us.

I was hoping for something more along the lines of that part in Supernatural where Sam starts hallucinating and imagines that Lucifer is talking to him. He could offer advice on our predicaments, and provide some witty banter. When we finally grow used to his presence, he tries to torment us and drive us insane. Eventually we have to dispel him somehow.

Instead he just gives Jagex an excuse to take away player choice. You shouldn't make a habit of mind-controlling the player in a roleplaying game. Especially when that game encourages you to have your own motivations and make your own decisions.

I'm hoping that our fusion will allow to sort of have a firestorm relationship. Mahjarrat have pleanty of abilities, perhaps we will have access to some of them. While I don't particularly want a shape shifting skill, this would be a good way to introduce it. He also had pleanty of knowledge that he got over millennia and through the stone of Jas. This opens up a of of options for narratives.

That's why I'm hoping we beat him down rather than expel him.

Take advantage of the extra power afforded and ditch the commentary.

Maybe this could lead into further elite skills as well- like shapeshifting and necromancy???

Most I can think of at this point is maybe having a revisit to that white mindscape stuff we talked to Zaros in for a little mental beatdown sometime. Or maybe having our moral choices affecting which personality/mind/whatever gets stronger as this crap drags on and affects how badly it screws us up whenever it blacks us out.

Either way I hope it ends sooner rather than later. I'm kinda getting sick of this 'Sliske always wins/escapes/gets his way because plot' crap already >_>
