Let me start by saying I
love
Guthix. Back in the day of the three gods, he was by far my favourite in terms of ideals and lore... But boy, does he make some interesting life-choices... What are your opinions on below - can you reconcile the below contradictions/lack of judgement with each other? (Warning - many spoilers ahead relating to Guthix's fate, the Elder Gods etc)
Firstly, he desires for a world for mortals to inhabit without the influence of gods, and so he chooses to designate this the one planet in the multiverse that the Elder Gods are sleeping on.
Again, he desires for a world for mortals to inhabit without the influence of gods, and then he invites the elves and their GODDESS Seren to come and live on Gielinor.
He has the power of foresight and is immensely wise, is highly likely aware of what the Elder Gods will do when they inevitably wake up (i.e. Destroy literally everything and absorb its power), and then fails to tell anyone about this, choosing instead to accept his own death and oblivion, and leaving all mortals and Gielinor to their fate.
Lastly, he knew that about 4-5 Elder Artefacts resided on Gielinor, he must have been wise enough to deduce this would inevitably bring other gods to the planet seeking their power, but he makes no efforts to move them to a different plane, choosing instead to go for a four thousand year nap, assuming everything would be fiiiiiiiiiine. (Spoilers - it was not fine)
If you can think of others, feel free to post them below..
