I've got no issue isolating it.
It would be a decent intermediate step before they finally made a plan to do something more.

Also been trying to think of replacement tasks someone could do for Seer's Village if they took out everything for the Camelot quests, outside of Divination (mid level stuff), they haven't added too much to the area in recent years.

Remember that completing Knight Waves Training is a requirement for Nomad's Requeim (you need the protection prayer in 1 instance)

Exactly, they really don't need to do any more than remove the explicit references to Britain/England/Real Life. Too much of the game relies on the Camelot content, including the Elf series, Seers Village tasks, Black Knight Titan in Dominion Tower and Gower Quest, Enhanced excalibur, Black Knight Catacombs from WGS being accessed from a King's Ransom area, Nomad's Requiem using one of the King's Ransom prayers, ect.

In addition to that, King's Ransom is actually a good quest with some nice dialogue and gameplay mechanics. And the other two are, if nothing else, iconic.
You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

I see no reason to remove it. There are plenty of other characters in Runescape with names taken from real world mythology, and we don't even bat an eye.

The only problematic thing is the references to Britain. And the thing is, humans have been settling different worlds for countless millenia, since before Guthix even ascended, with enough time for civlizations to rise and fall several times over. It was enough time for the Fremennik to forget about Saradomin completely.

So, they can change it to "Bahr'tain" or something like that, maybe add a little postquest dialogue to Merlin or someone talking about the world they came from, and all our problems go away.

There's nothing wrong with the quest series.

Or Britain could just be...idk...an alternate reality or whatever in the same way Disaster of Dimension and the halloween spinoff was of 'our' reality. Just say that the main divergent point or whatever was the Elder Gods not being around or some other reason that makes sense and go from there.

Or we could just accept that not everything needs to make sense or fit into some 'runescapey' theme or feel and move on to stuff that actually matters. I never understood the problem people have with the Camelot stuff considering that it's relatively isolated as far as metaplot involvement goes. O_o
^+^ Antediluvian of the Draculesti Bloodline ^+^

^+^ If the Gods see fit to curse us with the Blood, then we shall raise ourselves above them ^+^

I covered the Knight Waves. My idea is just have it so all players can unlock Piety at level 70 without needing to do the quest, although that one is definitely trickier, since it removes one of the main reasons to actually bother with the Knight Waves. For now, though, I think removing it as an explicit requirement for While Guthix Sleeps, and removing Merlin's Crystal for Heroes' Quest, would be least "damaging" changes.

Change a few names, replace Britan with Tarddiad, and you've got yourself a new area of lore, with the mess of the Camelot series gone.

Do you mean Teragard?

A rework would be a nightmare only if you think of it as a minor rework. If we are talking a rework on the scale of the Ozan or Ariane quests though, then I don't see why it would be a waste of dev time.

If that option is taken, then all the important bits connecting to other content will be included. There will still be a castle, and the Sinclairs/King Lathas would still want it, the Black Knight Titan and maybe the Courthouse will be involved, and you will get the prayers by completing a successor minigame to the knight rounds, etc.

Not saying Jagex *should* go down this path, just saying that they could.
I'm too Unaligned to have a forum signature.
