How Would This Look as Canon or Semi-Canon?
Here is a list of some of the changes I have introduced in this thread to RuneScape's lore.
- First, there is always a cost to developing lore, because telling a story one way means that you have chosen not to tell the story in other ways. Of course, this cannot be avoided if we want to tell stories at all. Thankfully, what I've proposed in this thread is simply one tradition of historical and magical thought and may be contradicted by other traditions and stories without problems.
- These stories give us a certain account of Ikov, Armadyl's arrival, and much of Gielinor during a period of time in the 2nd age. Maybe the most prominent cost to future story-telling is this: Armadyl and Ikov passed through Misthalin and Asgarnia before Saradomin established his empire there - we had no reason to think this before. They also had a strange, passing encounter with the Stone of Jas, or some illusion of it. It is unclear whether they met V while they stayed with the Fremennik.
- There was no civilization of delicate creatures on the summit of Ice Mountain during the time of Ikov, as Juna suggests.
- Zaros made an earlier attempt to conquer Gielinor, by ruling through spirits and from shadow, before his all-out assault with legions of demons; it is likely that Draynor was one of the vampyres who ruled the woodland on Zaros' behalf.
