So, by the looks of the god construct in DOD Halloween event. I notice (senpai Zamorak) ArmaSaraOrakDos that he, or it (he's quite Guthix dead). That he is...
BALD!


So that explains why Saradomin wears his elder crown so tight on his head.
(also why he can't think straight, without much oxygen to his brain... Guess it brought him into a.... stitchy situation. *Ba Dum Tss*)

(Serious note, what happend with the crown if both the Fantastic 4 are all Guthix dead in DoD?)

Problem with that, the crown (in its current style) doesn't cover his head. It's one of those ringy-tiara-type crowns, not the hat-type crown its previous shape was. Take a look again at his model or the BoL cutscenes or whatever. You can clearly see he has a full head of white hair.
The Asgarnian ale must flow.

It is possible that he might actually be a kid who changed his appearance into an old man. I mean he changed his appearance in the Sixth Age, and we haven't really seen anything of him from the Second Age or earlier (unless the Sixth Age form is how Zaros remembers him looking like back then. Some new look that is.). Prepare for hell on RuneScape in Naval Cataclysm!

I think this actually used to be a decently common theory in the past - I haven't seen it for a while, though, but I'm pretty sure some of the regulars here (was Solanumtinkr one of them?) were amongst the people suggesting it.

Well Saradom says he was young when he ascended and that can be viewed one of two ways:

1) "I was a young man and hotheaded back then."

or

2) "I was young for God standards and not as wise as I am now."

The former is definitely possible, given the context, and if that's the case then he simply shapeshifted into an older looking man. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.
