Hi lore forum!

I got a bit of a weird question to think on.

If there was a new group of signature heroes, who would be the group?

Let me explain.

The current heroes came into the story as already established heroes taught by Xenia, like we were with the Blood Pact. Since then, Owen has been corrupted, Linza has been wighted, Xenia has died, leaving only Raptor, Ozan, and Ariane of the original group.

So if people were to choose a new seven, with the World Guardian filling Xenia's role as a firmly estanlished adventurer tutoring, who would be the other six?

To clarify:
This means a Melee Fighter.
A Magic user
A Ranged fighter
A crafter
A slayer
A well-rounded adventurer.

So, to start... Here's my six.

Phillipe Carnelian - Knight. Raised as Ardougne Nobility, we built the quest that helped Phillipe become an Adventurer. Being of Ardougne Nobility, he is most likely being groomed to be a Knight of Ardougne, and has certainly earned a reputation there.

Iliona - The girl we saved from the Blood Pact. A magical apprentice at the Wizard's Tower who is studying magic. After our heroism, when she became a wizard she volunteered to explore ruins across Gielinor to learn more of old, forgotten magic.

I have no ranger suggestion. Whoops. It would be Zanik, but she died too.

Grubfoot - Inventor. With how much Invention influences in the Sixth Age, the Goblin would-be priest fron Goblin Village learned to invent from Oldak. Speaking poorly but thinking bright, Grubfoot uses his inventions to help people.

Askeladden/Laravak - Slayer. A Fremennik from the cold North, hardened by the Daggonnath wars, and motivated by the death of V to travel the world and act as a Hero.

Meg - Because of course she is. We've been carefully grooming this young, Sarimian investigator and hero for a long time, even serving as her role model.

EDIT: Sorry! Typed this on my phone so typos are all over.

Oh man - fun thread! I like this.

I made my list before looking at yours to avoid being influenced - still intersects a couple of times. I decided to interpret this as adventurers we might mentor or to whom we might be a companion.

Meg -rounded. Because of course she is - our protege. Even if she is prone to fits of pirate speak and overenthusiasm.

Grubfoot -crafter. A pioneer unafraid to stand apart from his race and make himself - I'd love to see more adventures for this little guy.

Leela -ranged. Ever since Restoring Senliten, we've had hints of a far greater destiny and a far more interesting history for Leela, and the Ozan double bill established her as a crackshot with a crossbow. Glad she's finally getting some more love.

Moia -slayer. Our most sympathetic and relatable Mahjarrat, her troubled history and quest to prove herself and gain distance from her 'family' legacy (though it's been somewhat mishandled by some writers) is one of RS's better stories. She's also a stone-cold killer, and I'd welcome more that puts us alongside her.

Evie Higgs -melee. It seems her story will drive our progress further into the Arc, likely for years to come, and I couldn't be more happy about that. There are also hints at a more complex mainland backstory - let's see more from this unconventional Kinshra's perspective.

Kennith -mage. There is a GIANT question mark hanging over Kennith. We had a somewhat questionable mentor relationship with him at one point, and now we're not sure who or what he is, or if he's even an ally. I could see him as a more ambiguous hero.

I also considered Zanik, but her story seems more-or-less complete. Philippe and Kara-Meir sprang to mind as well, but honestly, I find 'em both a tad obnoxious.

Umm... I think we need more quests with the current Signature Heroes before we start giving titles to our other friends.

More quests with the current set would be appreciated (can't wait till Jack of Spades, for one), but assembling supergroups like this is still a fun exercise.

Cyrisus would be a perfect fit for the "well-rounded adventurer" slot if it weren't for the fact that he's dead.

Imo, having characters fill in generic archetypes only limits their usage and growth, and benefits nobody except the marketing team.

Yes, they should all feel unique, so as to not repeat the same story, but that also means every new generation should be more than just a copy&paste of the old one.

For example, Askeladden, Moia, and the Raptor could all have their stories told and expanded upon at the same time, without creating any overlap.

Still, I do like the idea of having side characters grow alongside us.
The legendary creators have been long gone from this world. When they return, they'll be surprised and angered of their creations' new sapience. Meanwhile, the world's most elite, summoned to be its guardians, have abandoned their purpose and intend to plunge the world into chaos. -- Bionicle or RS?
