Player: Lord Zaros, Empty Lord and arbiter of fate... All that happened here was inevitable, as you decreed it. I submit my will - and the fate of Sir Owen's soul - to you.

Well, now we know what happens to Zarosians after they die: Zaros takes care of their souls and does something to them.

I think that there could be a Pantheon-wide Emissary that teaches the important virtues that each god represents. Or maybe it could be one emissary, but he could offer a title for each one.

My thoughts are of the ancient Egyptians. They had this large pantheon, and I'm sure that different gods had their own respective priests or ministers, but George from 3201 Nile Ave. would believe in Het, Ra, Anubis, etc. He may have preferred one or some over the other(s), but he still was a believer in that complete religion.

Anubis was the god of embalming and the dead. He had his role, his beliefs, his whatever; but he was still part of the pantheon.

Consider the following:

1. Is the source credible? The quote you chose has the player speaking, but how would the player have gotten this information? We've never asked Zaros, and Icthlarin doesn't know. As far as I can tell, the player is just talking out of their arse in this case.

2. After Zamorak's coup, Zaros was incapacitated for an extended period of time (he couldn't even pick up Azzy's calls). During the same time period, the Zarosian Genocide was happening. So if Zaros was incapacitated and Icthlarin didn't guide a soul during this time period, it logically leads to the conclusion that Zaros was not directly responsible for what happened to the souls.

Exactly, which is why I'm so perplexed Icthlarin doesn't know. Hopefully the answer isn't "I was still bitter about the invasion and dad blowing himself up, so I let dear sister eat them all."

Anyways, I checked Senliten's transcript. No details on the Menaphite afterlife, only general information (which was new at the time) about the general mechanics of the afterlife. She does mention the Menaphites believed that mind and body had to be properly prepared to enter the afterlife rather than reincarnating, which contradicts later lore where reincarnation was a rare gift offered by Amascut to exceptional individuals (ex. Robert the Strong).

If memory serves, both the Godless and the Guthixians were also omitted as well. I think everyone can guess what it's like for followers of Marimbo.

Guthixians and Godless just go to Limbo actually, but that was confirmed out of game.

I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?

What happens when they forget enough to actually let go then? Do they cease to exist as an independent entity in a sense, attaining Liberation/Nirvana? Rejoin the Anima Mundi? Gain an individual afterlife like Zanik does after Nomad's Elegy if you don't revive her?

How does that make sense with pre-The World Wakes Guthixians? Wouldn't their misunderstanding of Guthix's teachings lead to the creation of a seperate afterlife? Afterlives come into being based on the beliefs of groups or individuals after all, not an act of a god.

That said, any chance the Menaphite afterlife was detailed out of game in that case? I've still not been able to find any info on that, and most people who've responded were more interested in talking about the Zaros bit I added as an afterthought.

What happened to them post-Limbo was deliberately not answered. There's supposedly something though.

And no the Menaphite pantheon was not mentioned.
